On two of my sticks the have ls32 and ls38 they were feeling alittle funny so opened them up and found plastic shavings inside the stick along with chewed up actuators, I know they are made of soft plastic but damn!
I bought the kowal octogate also to give it a try. Figure that will add more wear to the actuator during use as well.
So I was looking for a harder actuator and saw that paradise has aluminum oversized actuators in two different sizes. Anyone have experience with these?
Before you buy a replacement actuators make sure they are for the joystick you are trying to repair.
Paradise Arcade has metal after market actuators in both LS-32 and JLF versions.
I would go with the 1.0mm Oversized if it was my Joystick.
I have two LS-32s and the 1mm actuator works great. It’s good construction and won’t break down I don’t think. Paradise I think is the only place to get these right now. Go for it dude. While you’re at it, if you like the resistance on the LS-38 better than the 32… get the 38 spring from them and put it on your 32 for a stiffer lever. Good luck.
Cool guys, im def gonna buy afew to replace all the actuators in my ls sticks. Yeah, ill make sure I get the one for the ls32. Do you guys know if they carry the eclips to replace the ls32 c clips? I tried looking for them but couldnt find any on they site.
Nah, the only way I got new clips for my LS-32 was by buying a Phreakmods “The Link”, which I highly recommend by the way. It flattens out the stick and you can take the top portion of the lever with you. There’s even a lanyard you can buy to wear the ball/bat top around your neck.
I forgot the actual size you would need for a LS-32 Shaft, but they are widely available in most hardware stores.
I want to say they are sized 7/16" but I am not sure. I haven’t bought e-clips for a LS-32 in like 3 years (I buy in bulk).
I say take the shaft with you to the hardware store and see what fits.
I read its 3/8" eclips, bought afew. Dont feel like testing it to see if its the right size until my actuators come in. Ordered 5 of them. I will confirm once they get here.
UPDATE: So I installed the oversized actuator in my LS38 and it seemed fine at first. But ive been experiencing dropped inputs, trouble doing simple motions, like qc, hc and srk. Thought maybe it was the octogate giving me issue, switched to square and same thing. Then i realized it was the actuator. Its too big and was causing issues. One of my friends told me oversized PAS LS-32 actuator is for silent switches like Omron D2RV-G levered switches. So thats something to think about. Now ill be going back to the stock actuator. All I wanted was a stock sized aluminum actuator. Dont think there is anyone that offers this part.
+1 vote on them being just for when you install Silent switches.
yeah, i bought a few to replace the stock actuators in all my sticks, including my cab. I honestly thought i was spending too much time at work and losing my gaming skills. lol
I knew something was wrong when i couldnt shoryken through fireballs in ST2 consistently
-1 vote on them being just for when you install Silent switches. I have a LS32 and the 1mm oversized actuator for that lever and it works fine. What size did you get? Anything over 1mm is overkill imo.
1mm (gold one). I bought 5 of them, 4 are installed. And im experiencing issues with all of them. 2 have the octogate and 2 have stock gate. Then i have one with octogate and without the 1mm actuator and that thing is like butter. I was testing out the good one with one of the ones i have a issue with on cvs2. Like day and night on my inputs. Even creating space by going back and forth it will skip a command or two. Maybe the ones i got are out of spec, idk
all mine are new model ls32’s. I know they changed vendors on the switches. Could that be a issue? Probably not
