Louis' Movie Recommendations w/ commentary

Gonna have to check out Prince of Darkness, it’s gonna be the next thing I watch after I finish downloading The Raid:Redemption

That franchise is in such a mess, the VS series they’re ongoing now. Though 1st one had Sanaa Lathan break the white lady “last girl” role color barrier, helped me do a film presentation on that trope and stereotypes or was that the first 28 days later. I probably used both in writing, zombies to get people to pay attention to the movie clip.

Predator itself doesn’t get any play. Only thrown in as AvP, still never going to learn canon on their homeworld, why they’re intergalactic Space Jamaican hunters and such. Way more interesting than retreading then making hybrid face crawlers. Games are kind of a mess just the same. So stick with the classics on these francises right?

Capcom 1992 beat em up, still the best.

SF4 is as much a remake of SF2 as it is a remake of SF3. i.e. not even fucking close

It’s a failed abortion that was spawned by both.

if it wasnt for sf4 i wouldnt be playing 3s or fighting games in general

I’d like to call it Street Fighter EX Moves, Alpha 4.
Feel free to call it that too.

(Duck Strongs kicked ass in SF:EX series, Cracker Jack links)

Yeah, I publicly declared that I don’t want to avoid getting into emotional arguments on SRK as much as I can, but yeah, just because Seth wasn’t the biggest 3S fan doesn’t mean he had anything to do with hurting 3S… He was a hardcore SF2 player, many of which didn’t like the SF3 series. He still has done more to support and grow the SF/fighting game scene than just about anyone. I have seen tons of Seth interviews and I had no idea he didn’t like 3S. Many other “public figures” in the FGC have been more vocal about disliking 3S, and there are plenty of people I would blame before Seth… but really, no one is to blame because 3S as well as CvS2 and MvC2 were just really old by the time SF4 came out and it was totally natural for a lot of people to move on.

The SF2 die hards don’t like change. They’re against Supers fer chrissakes. What does that tell you?

That you don’t know what the hell you’re talking about.

Cho mamma.

I think Prince of Darkness is his most underrated film. It’s a slow and methodical horror flick with an entirely adult cast.

it surprised me to see some of the SF2 heads be like “yeah I like SF4 it takes the series back to its roots” when the game was first out

which told me they hated the idea of 3s. the “Third Strike: Theory Edition” that exists when people argue about it on SRK and make long posts about how parries ruin fighting games. not the actual game.

because no way on earth was SF4 anywhere near similar to SF2. and as we moved into AE and then 2012, it got even further away.

Hell yeah! This one is the best tribute film to Lovecraft. Not so much competitor though…

Is there ever a polite way of informing someone that they’re bad at a Fighter without them freaking out?

beat them at it, then they’ll know

A lot of times they don’t…

whioa what. no.

AVP and AVP2 are awesome games. i have logged countless hours crawling through ducts.

AVP 2010 single player campaign was honestly better than both AVP movies. BUT the multiplayer was horrible. Huge disappointment considering what could be done with that franchise and it coming from Rebellion.

I’ve never liked taking pictures of people or myself for that matter. I don’t have image issues I just don’t get it. Years ago when I was watching David Lynch’s Lost Highway there’s a line I really like in regards to why Bill Pullman doesn’t keep any family photos in his home “I like to remember things my own way, not necessarily as they happened.”

Man On Fire could be Tony Scott’s best film. Either that or The Hunger.

Do I have someone on ignore or is louie melting down.
