I hope I don’t have to waste an assist slot on a “get off me” assist to not get rushed the fuck down.
if your character is a good keepaway guy, wouldn’t the assist not be wasted if it helped thwart rushdown?

Liberation. It is the power up usage move.
Obviously it’s not actually a “waste,” I’m just hoping he’ll be able to get out of pressure on his own so that I can have two unique assists that help me zone (Trish’s trap and MODOK’s Aegis?) rather than spending one on a boring uppercut.

In general I think the MvC team has done away with characters ONLY useful for assists. ie Tron buff.

Anyone see the video with Dorm thats Keits posted, and how fast he charged up his hands. I remember reading somewhere that it was near impossible to get the charges, Keits got it 3 times both hands. But they might have tweaked it to make it faster.
Charges will be his bread and butter.

Its NOT slow and has NEVER been slow. He gets a free charge on every blocked purification and black hole.
All these guys who say this guy is sluggish arent using him correctly.

Make charging d,d+A for left, and d,d+B for right, and make hcb A liberate left, hcb B liberate right, hcb C liberate all charges like it currently does.
The powerup mechanic is cool lets use it !

And why change PoC/PoD to a half circle motion when they are quarter circle.
fireball motion is eatier to hit in the heat of battle in comparison to a double tap.
It would be nice though if you could pick liberates, since meteor shower, explosion, ground spike, and sticky all have entirely different uses.

4 button layout kinda makes that impossible to effectively implement.
So, wondering what the timing on charge is exactly - looking at his moves, there are a few things that stand out, especially since I’m not sure how fast he can attack after teleport. I didn’t see a way to combo after Dark Hole via teleport, but I wouldn’t be surprised if hitting the opponent with something like Soul Fist, Hadouken, or Uni-Beam sorts that out…or possibly Amaterasu’s ice beads assist. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out that psychic Dark Holes with an assist hit are what get him the most damage, unless you can somehow combo after Creator or Destructor projectiles. Or Dark Hole [Molecular Shield hits] -> Sticky.
I didn’t test because I didn’t feel comfortable enough with him yet, but any idea if it’s possible to do Destructor lv3 xx Chaotic Flame? I doubt it, but it would be an incredibly strong punish if it works, especially since maxed explosion would catch any assist on the screen.
Some other things I’d like to see tested - Creator lv2 cooldown time: aiming for superjump aircombo or pillar. If he has any huge-hitstun projectiles a la /-11’s Spike Chaser in BlazBlue, that would set up major silliness…but I’m not sure if they’ll give him that type of keepaway, given how high damage this game is.
On a side note, has anyone gotten the chance to really mess around with his fly? Can he cancel his projectiles or 6C into it?
Also, fire on the floor is 2C, right?
