Lol its already unblockable too, we just don’t want it taken out. And yeah he probably doesn’t need it but the move itself won’t be worth the charge most likely if its blockable. It’s not like its a full screen unblockable combo with damage, its just a floor stick. Think of what else you could be getting with three charges: Meteors or full screen explode.
You have to think ahead, tho its strong right now…6 maybe 8 months down the line when this game is broken in it might be a little too much. We haven’t even cracked the surface yet and dormammu is beast.

Meh, I bet zoning actually gets worse as the game goes on though. I want a good reason to use it over meteors/explode. Explosion is a full screen(including air) near instant high damage attack that can porbably be combo’d out of with a super cancle. Seems like they are about as good as supers, just taking charges instead of meter. He’s not going to have a good way to combo into floorstick on his own since he has crap for mixup and his zoning moves all put the oponent airborne(where it can’t hit.) I guess an assist could do it if you have one that people would get hit with on the ground without being popped up.
I guess the problem is managing a grounded hit runs against his gameplan. since none of his keepaway stuff will keep them grounded.
You act as if the concept of a character only being good at one thing somehow makes them less viable.
Dormammu supposedly has weak mixup and is incredibly slow. He also has a full screen unblockable, can charge a stock in between specials, and has a hyper > KFC > hyper that takes over 1/3rd health. So yeah, I wouldnt complain that he doesnt have many ways to combo into super, or combo into unblockable.
Paired with two characters who make up where he lacks could be devastating to the rest of the cast. All Dormammu needs is an assist like Psylocke AA that gives him just enough breathing room to start his shenanigans all over and build more meter.
That’s my suspicion as well. I suspect that he’s gonna seem really strong at first, and then fade as people get used to the game and get better at getting in on him.

What if Dormammu becomes the part of a trap team where he could chip you to death in between building stock to corner roast you with unblockable bombs into chipping orbs?

But truthfully it really needs to remain unblockable because if not you’ll never get it to land unless that person is completely oblivious to what’s going on

EDIT: Before you respond with what I think you’re going to say…if the move is useless but unblockable then in the event that you have 3 charges it will at least be guaranteed if properly set up.
So with that in mind, I’d love to know why wouldnt people make an unblockable setup practical? I dont know what videos you have been watching but getting a charge isnt THAT slow. Getting three surely isnt impractical given the payoff once you have it.
You’d be hard pressed to convince me that after this game is fully understood, people wont have strategies that involve building stocks.
Because then it would be possible to hit people with it who understand the game and aren’t drunk.
And going by what you just said, why would this full screen unblockable not be too strong if it becomes practical later on in high level gameplay?
God forbid…we find out how to perhaps cancel charges into each other or something like that.
It would be a pain but its jumpable and its no damage. I would rather err on the side of broken in Marvel.

Honestly the whole point of the power ups seem to be to allow him broken moves that he doesn’t always have access to, and to allow him to fuck with the other player’s head by charging stuff.

on topic, Unblockable ground stick should be fine. Takes a while to gain 3 stocks, and in that time, you could have been dealing more damage and using those stocks offensively, and random uses of it are probably easy to didge (like random raging demons). Will tacics to land it easily come about in high level play?
most likely yes. does that make it broken? no. not being able to jump doesn’t make them defenseless or do damage, it just limits their options for a little while. They can still block, they can still attack, they can still call assists. The only thing you as Dorm can do that is guaranteed is doing some pretty good chip.
But here’s the question: would you rather use those stocks for faster and easy/easier to combo damage throughout a match, or do you save them up and forgoe that damage to stick 'em, with little to no guarantee of any payoff other than some chip?
