LOL, like it makes a difference that SNKP is going to the Wii. the company is still crap like always and havent even improve their status. their games arent groundbreaking which is the reason why they die a horrible death. and even to this day, they still havent develope a major title and they focus more on fighting games than anything else.

KOF XI had a huge turnout this year at the TX Showdown so I think that a following could happen here if given half a chance.

Which is funny seeing as how 2-D fighters rarely get play compared to other games. You would think that there would be some unity among the 2-D scene.

It’s too bad that SNK couldn’t release games for the Wii and the 360. It was fun being part of the small hardcore group of Xbox owners that play the awesome 2D fighters available for the system. The games aren’t flashy but they’re damn fun. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
Yeah…thats why you all need to import the games so you dont wait for ever to play them…I never wait till the US release…NEVER…
I’m sure in due time we will get flashy SNK fighters that look very very good…I am confident in it…patience is the key I believe…after all…now SNK is the one leading the 2d world…along with Arc Systems… Snk’s time is coming…and XI and Tenka really have gotten more on the bandwagon…esp XI.

Yes Darkside3024 you are right everyone should be on the same page, most of my friends dont play KOF because they say it looks shit, these are the same people that play SF2 without any problem lol.
I guess SNK or even Arcs arent going to brake the market, its a bit late in the day for new 2d fighters, its a shame eventually things will stop.
As Dark Geese said were a dying breed its problay like the whole generation that played pong/space invaders or pac-man, and now its going to happen to us.
Edit: dark Geese I think MOTW2 has the Potential to get people interested I mean the animation is on level with 3s all it needs is high res, that could get people to follow, up the roster count also, im asuming their is going to be a MOTW2 but who knows.
But…with that said SNK did say this-“We want to be the last makers of 2d games” so with that said I hope SNK keeps making 2d games for the rest of eternity…
and there is hope for older games…
Look at how RPGs are made now and days…flashy Final Fantasy types with CGI’s and other things…
games like Lunar have died out…but doesnt mean they dont still exist…Disgaea is proof that the older Supernes type RPGs can still have success…its just not comparable to the others and it is harder to find…but you can find it if you try…
So I aint giving up on hope just yet…I am going to keep on supporting my 2d fighters and keep on playing SNK and going to SNK tournies to support the scene…make more aware and get fresh blood into it…
Think about it this way also- I’m sure in SFAE made money for Capcom (though not comparable to Resident Evil etc) then they know that Street Fighter 4 (did I say those forbidden 3 words on SRK???
) would make them some money as well…it would be in the bank…but they choose to focus elsewhere…
And also…why do the KOF’s keep coming in a dying market?? Bc they keep making SNK money…and MI made them enough to make a anime series and throw money into the market even more with new hardware, and games like NGBC, Tenka, and Neo Wave etc…if there is no market for the games or interest lacks then the games stop…so keep on supporting…that is all we have folks…

You know the fighting game community is pretty fucking bad when people consider 36 players for a major a huge turnout, and when people post and say “oh i don’t care if it’s a US release or not, i’ll just import that shit.” Have fun playing against your 5 buddies or so who actually know about the game lol.

Wow, that’s great news! I had to buy a PS2 just to get my SNK fix; the GC was always my main system, but it only had the horrible CvS2 EO.
Incidently, I always had intentions of buying a Wii over any other system in the next generation war.

Yeah I never trust company reviews of fighting games unless the people that review it actually know what they are talking about and are true hardcore fighting game players…then I take it with a grain of salt…bc I totally love Neo Wave and can’t go back to playing 2k2…
Same here DG, I’m loving Neo Wave; I do miss the fact that I can’t cancel Iori’s dp into his DM, though :sad:
To be fair, Neowave is a horrible looking game. It looks awful even by SNK standards. Xplay also gave GG really high ratings, so the 2D isn’t really the problem.
