Hey,
I recently bought a TE PS3 Fighstick but my mobo’s chipset is Intel, so I need to buy a PCI-E usb adapter for it to work.
Will this one do the trick ? https://www.amazon.fr/CSL-contrôleur-interface-externes-compatible/dp/B014JJYO8Q/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1498474925&sr=1-2&keywords=PCI%2Bexpress%2Busb&th=1
I don’t know if it’s the right chipset and if USB 3.0 will work with the stick.
Don’t even bother. The USB PCI cards are discontinue long ago. And if you are looking for a PCI-E USB card it’s going to lack UHCI protocols. You are far better off just swapping the PCB from inside the TE arcade stick.
I was talking about PCIe, and I don’t have the budget for the universal PCB, neither the soldering skills. Do you think PCIe with VIA CAN work though ?
If you’re just gonna use it on PC and/or PS3, get a Zero Delay board. Less than $15 with all the cables you need and readily available on ebay, plus it’s solder free so practically a drop in replacement for the existing board. Darksakul is right, any modern USB PCIe card is gonna lack the UHCI which is what’s stopping the stick from working right now.
I’ll third the notion- just replace the pcb. You don’t have to drop big bucks on a UFB to do so.
I mean, I don’t know really want to mod my stick actually, I just bought it, so I thought about that solution.
And i’m only going to use it on PC, so any PCIe card I can get on the french amazon store ?
https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Port-Card-Adapter-PCIUSB7/dp/B002RL8V7E?th=1 will this one work for example ?
Have you tried a usb to serial/DB9 adapter? You may need to buy a DB9 PCI-E card first. But if you want t it to work the first time everytime replace the PCB as suggested above.
I didn’t try the adapter, and the converter is too expensive for me. I’ll go with the PCI-E card, and in case it doesn’t work i’ll get a ZD from ebay. Thanks for your help guys
I know what you are talking about, you aren’t going to find it.
You are not going to find a PCIe USB card with UHCI compatibility.
Not even a Via branded one, all the USB PCIe cards now are USB 3.0 or 3.1 compatible.
USB 3.0 and 3.1 is not even backwards compatible with the ancient UHCI protocols.
That isn’t UHCI compatible. No one supports it anymore. No one wants to pay Intel the license fee for a obscure and obsolete USB protocol.
You be wasting your money.
Ether you need to replace the Stick’s PCB or use a converter.
If you’re not opposed to selling that PS3 TE, you could get an Xbox 360 TE that would work perfectly on your PC…
