I’m looking for people that know the game inside-out. I don’t want to post a long explanation of what exactly I’m looking for =/. Just think of the combo video I did and the one’s joo’s done (-vol11 cause that was bad ) I know I’m searching in the wrong place since this is a competitive fighting game website and not just a combo place, but it’s the **only **good forum around =/
Are you fogetting that you and joo are the only ones that uses programming pads?Other combo video creators don’t. :wonder: Don’t get me wrong you and joo videos are great,but I seen other impressive combos also.
And don’t get me wrong about the other creators,I saw some videos that was done without programed combos,and its scray to see what they could do if they had a progamming pad.
Theres more then enough potential on srk,it’s just are the other creators up for this?
No, hehe. There is a thread for getting programmable controllers…So if there are any people with good ideas for combos it’s possible to get your hands on a program pad. Hopefully there are some other people that have interesting ideas and make the most out of them with a programmable controller. ^_^.
A good idea is a good idea, it doesn’t have to be nearly impossible to do by hand to be impressive! A program pad(s) just amplify the idea.
program pads are for combos that are never done in a real match, i think everyone including yipes feels the combo videos are pointless and just funny to watch. i dont know about anyone here but i only like to watch something that is useful and i could use. now glitch videos on the other hand is mad tight, i wouldnt mind watching dozens of glitch videos and how to do it, this is why the game is soo fun to play, its like the fighting game is in the matrix realm.
BTW: marvel will never cease to amaze me, for a game to be this old and always coming up with some new shit is just priceless, imma get a mss tattoo on my back.

i think it would also be nice to put a thread for input on combos that might be worthy to put in a video from people that don’t have the resources need to make a video, or the knowledge.
Not trying to be mean,but speak for yourself.Watching matches of top tiers are just plain boring nothing new.Thats the downfall of marvel today because it just got played out,from watching the same old thing, magneto, storm ,cable,ironman,doom,cyc or whatever. Combovideos show the meaning of skill and effort to show to the community and sorry to say more creative then same O ,same, O ,Switch GLitch,snapout,infinite,reset,gaurd break,build meter,SUper thats in every match . Most people I know dont even watch matches anymore,we stop watching like a year ago,because the Same O ,Same O,with a little reset here and there.You will never see nothing new in matches,then you will in a combovideo.just my 2 cents.
but what im talking about is a thread where people could discuss combos, setups, glitchs, etc. that they think would be nice to see in a video that noone has done before by a bunch of characters and such.
like lets say there’s a amazing strider player out there that knows resets and setups that make strider seem godly, but can’t show it to by any other means than just doing it infront of them.
i think a thread like this would help the project alot because then the video makers will have ideas from other people, and not just themselves along with maybe new knowledge that people have found that they didn’t know.
i myself have one or two little interesting combos with all four top tiers, and mids that i think are interesting to show off.
the whole point would be simply for ideas, and thoughts on what would be good for the video/videos.
at the end of the day it would still be up to the video makers to actually put it in a video, so it’s not like anything would be lost by the thread.

The type of combo videos I think Magnetro is talking about are exhibition videos. There are some combo videos that can show you stuff to do with characters in matches, but Joo and Magnetro’s shit is for entertainment. If you’re a fan of the game, I don’t see how you wouldn’t enjoy watching them. I may be going a little bit overboard here, but they’re pretty much works of art. I think they’re meant to be admired and not so much emulated (learned from.)
That’s kind of how they have it in Japan, usually one group of people or person (but usually group) create videos for their respective games, in the case of MvC2, it’s Meikyousisui. From info I get from joo and others, it’s really safe to say that joo is the person that all the other Japaneses give their ideas to. It’s like this for other things to (they share everything and we don’t) So that would be an interesting idea but if someone posts it on SRK then everyone can read it…

i was wondering if it’s too hard to get any new info out of the game, then what about a highlight video of every character in the game doing things that make them interesting like combos, resets, setups, glitchs, etc.

On the contrary, wouldnt making combo videos be boring? I mean they take forever to make and probably an hour to do a single combo chain, wheres the perfect execution in that? Match videos bestow high level play with perfect execution. Its not played out you just suck. Ppl who suck cannot distinguish boring shit and top level play bc they see that alot in match videos but to veterans, everything is scrutinized.

i think being able to use the “basics” so long and so well in a high level, heated match is what seperates them for all the rest.
And i never knew that sanford doing with sentinel s.lk + mag-a, mp, sj, lk mp, fly lp mp, unfly, fly lp mp, unfly lp, fly under, lk+ mag-a, hp, rp.

Jwong pinning storm/sentinel/capcom and stuffing capcom calls/assist killing with perfectly placed tri jump rushdowns/ hailstorms to kill capcom was so basic.
i doubt that there are many people that can say that they know what is going on and be to reproduce it vs players at that level.
The word basic doesn’t not exist in marvel because even getting a launch into air combo can seem impossible when you don’t know the match up vs a High level player as justin or sanford.
im not downing you, i don’t think you suck because i’ve never played you, but i don’t think what they do is “basic” in anyway.
it might be true that what they do has been seen before, but whats not basic is there ability to consistantly overwhelm there oppenents with these “basics”, that is why they are so amazing, because they show all the aspects of the game/ what team they use so well, so many times vs so many players.
