I’m searching for a character that suits me best. I’m quite new to street fighter but I understand how fighting games works. I’m lloking for a character that:
1.- Easy/medium execution.
2.-Not a shoto.
3.- Overall good/easy combo damage.
4.- And if possible not a charge character (I’m pretty bad at that).
And if possible tell me a good player that uses that character for seeing how is meant to be played, or any tutorial for ultra.
Thanks for your time!
Cammy has all of those, easy entry-level execution, as well as a variety of combo options if you wanna do 1-frame links and stuff. K-brad is the best cammy that plays her in Ultra as far as I know, but looking at AE2012 footage is good too, not much changed in terms of playstyle between the two, mainly damage nerfs.
Cammy
[] Xiao Hai
[] Alioune
[] K-Brad
[] Youshikibi

Osugi
Cammy her basic combos are really easy, as are her setups and gameplan.
She is a highly offensive character that can also play the neutral game well and has good anti-airs and deals solid damage.
Juri
[] Lutuna
[] Younashi
[] Yossann
[] Aiaitomo
[] Momochi
[] Alioune
Juri has pretty easy combos, excellent normal anti-airs, a few really good pokes, her options during defense isn’t the greatest though so it is up to you to keep people out or be on the offense. Her close range normals are slow and she is prone to getting counterhit. Her EX Pinwheel is a good reversal but leaves her extremely vulnerable when it gets blocked, so you need three meters to make it safe or just take the risk.
Her gameplan is pretty advanced, you need to be ale to switch between offense and zoning fast as have a good grip on her blockstrings and setups. Excecution shouldn’t be a problem however she has a bit of a learning curve with her neutral game and how to use her fireballs properly. Playing her on pad can be alot more difficult than on an arcade stick as you do have to hold buttons.
Seth
[] Poongko
[] Inaba
Seth has loads of options to deal with almost any situation, his basic combos are really easy but the biggest skill you need is making the correct reads, you have to gamble alot if you want to stay on the offense.
He has the ability to keep people out and one of the best anti-jump and anti-fireball ultra’s in the game. He has good normals for either poking or counter poking. Rounds can end in a flash if you make some good reads with Seth, he however has low life and this forces you to make minimal mistakes. Anti-airing is a must with seth, this might be a bit more difficult because of how tall he is, you have to anti-air earlier than with say Ryu.
Rose
[] Louffy/Luffy
[] Filipinoman
[] Rosetukaidesu
[] Ninomae/N1nomea
Rose is a hit and run character, she focuses heavily on the ground game, her abundance of great normals and ridiculous backdash can frustrate opponents to make mistakes. She has a few anti-air options such as cr.hp or ex soul throw, you can also use f.hk from further distances. Her Ultra 2 is a HUGE momentum killer, once activated you force yourself out of the corner, go for throw/frametrap mixups or on knockdown her crossup mixups.
Her combos are relatively easy and usually her specials even if you miss the link are safe. To make the most of her though she requires an important 1-frame link.
Yun
[] Kazunoko
[] Taiga
[] Fentamu
[] Kaiser
[] Julio
[] Hsien Chang
Yun is pretty easy as far as combos go, his abundance of chains can make his offense relentless and very safe. You however do need good hitconfirms to make the most of him, but this will come easily the more you play the character. The dragonpunch motion is important for Yun to anti-air and to go for big damage and setups. Yun his biggest learning curve is the use of his divekick, it is his main tool for offense and mixups. He has low health and you cannot make his upkicks safe and you are prone to focus attacks if you abuse the divekick too much as well as his shoulder pressure. Excecution wise he is easy, even more so in USFIV as you don’t need to rely on genei jin super anymore. His pokes are decent.
Cody
[] Sasaki
[] Momochi
Probably one of the most honest and straight forward characters in the game, he also has very easy excecution. Easy links and no dp motions. Excellent anti-air normals and solid damage. He is easy to pick up but extremely diffciult to use at higher level play as he is so incredibly telegraphed in his approach. He has excellent buttons, unfortunately his backward walkspeed is so slow it makes it difficult to properly play the footsie game. His main strength is his ability to frametrap as most upclose buttons are highly advantageous, so it is possible to a high offense game. Cody his weak points are his defensive options and you are forced to forced to take the offense of other characters and their mixups. You have to get creative in your approach because of his lack of mobility also. He is still an excellent beginner character but Cammy is simply better in almost everything else.
I simply wrote down a few names, they are not always the best best players for that respective character but atleast you can see the general playstyle.
