Yeah I think Ghost Rider will work well with both assists. They are both good for harrasment and they both get protected really well by ghosts chains.
Ghost Rider could be a good anchor, but it really depends on your opponent’s team. Characters like Strider or Wesker are going to open you up without an assist and that’s a risk I don’t want to take.
A look at Blaze’s only Mashable Hyper, Hellfire Maelstrom. @ 2:15…

Unmashed, it does a fairly decent 278K. With maximum mashing, it does up to 318K, 40,000 improvement. And considering how quirky that Magic Pixel can be (Capcom says they fixed it, I trust nothing,) I say the mashing here might be worth it.
Yeah, I agree. Seems like it could net you a 500-600k damage combo staring from just a j.:s: or st.:h:
EDIT: Rocket Raccoon is looking to be his worst matchup. I was scrolling through the RR thread and found that he can actually dash under Ghost Rider’s chains. Not to mention the burrow as well.
Well the Rodent isn’t to short to be hit by GRs H chains.
Thats a +.
I got an early copy so i’m ready to answer any questions :).
To clarify SOV follow ups:
:l: zooms straight forward
bike flies offscreen in 45 degree angle
:h: turns bike around
:s: pops wheelie to extend combo
We’re jealous, but grateful! :razzy: On to the questions!
Is the :h: follow up to SOV safe on block?
Can he easily link into s.:h: after j.:s: by himself, or do you need an assist usually?
It’s not looking like it. A normal or command grab with enough range and low start up can punish GR before or during his jump from the swerve.
Yes he can combo, he just needs to be in a sweet spot that is not too far away or [S]not to close[/S] to the opponent. Assists will be a big help in allowing him to accomplish this however.
EDIT: correction, J.:s: > j.:h: can combo up close, just be sure to not miss the opponents head.
So can you combo from the wall bounce that :h: during SOV creates or will you need X-factor?
Funny thing about that…
You cannot XFC SOV hyper for the duration that GR is sitting on his bike. You can XFC when he jumps out but it needs to be as close to the ground as possible to combo. Hellfire :l: xx Maelstrom, SOV, and Heartless spire all work after the XFC.
SPOILER ALERT!!! Ghost Rider’s ending.

Aww, they finally learned to work together.
I was kinda expecting Blackheart to make an appearance, but this is still okay by me.
so what are we looking at in terms of assists here? heartless spire has a really slow startup and no invincibility, but can OTG. and once its out, its a nice wall against projectiles. meanwhile, chain gives you a wall bounce and a free combo, which looks reallly delicious…
anybody got some theorycrafting on it yet?
Heartless Spire isn’t that slow compared to other OTG Assists in the game. To be honest, all of Blaze’s assists have usefulness. His Chain gives you a wall bounce that extends combos, Spire can OTG and nullify projectiles, and Hellfire can OTG like Wesker’s Gun Assist, leading to extended combos. It really just depends on how you’re playing. If defensive, Heartless Spire. If offensive, Hellfire.
Just my opinion…
@CSword: can any of Ghost Rider’s jumping attacks cross up?
His jump sure does!
Heartless spire is actually fast and comes out almost instantaneously when it is called out. Trust me when I say it will stop a lot of rushdown players in their tracks. The only downside is that it doesn’t cover much distance onscreen.
EDIT: Oh btw guys, just a warning. It is highly likely that you will rage on Ghost Rider’s mission 9. You will also rage even harder when you realize that Mission 10 is really easy in comparison.
So I’ve played against Ghost Rider for the first time last night and tbh, he gave me a ton of trouble. The hitbox on j.S is massive and even hits a little bit above him too so trying to meet up air to air is out of the question. Maybe there’s some glaring weakness I’m missing.
Awesome, thanks!
I came in here to post something like this, concerning the Mission but u beat me to it lol.
For the love of Zarathos…lemme guess, it involves both assists AND X-Factor, right?
