I think his normals destroy projectiles.
It might work like Spencer’s Bionic ARM, where the startup is completely invincible. Still, to know that GR has some invincibility on his Bike is Cold! It gives him a counter attack when anyone tries to throw out a Hyper to punish his Chain Whipping.
I get what you’re saying, though I still feel this applies to many characters, it wont just affect GR and it’s still all situational. He’ll obviously have some skewed matchups, I bet Ammy is gonna be on his ass all day, though at least her air dash nerf means he can do something about her advancing. Vanilla Ammy vs GR sounds like the stuff of nightmares.
It sounds like the basic idea is to start your keepout game before a character can get in on you, this could mean that GR as an incoming character might have problems, characters like Wolverine and Zero get free 50/50s against incoming characters that end with you cornered and underneath them, j.S spamming which we’ve seen be pretty effective at fight clubs looks primitive at best, he’s clearly a “pick and choose your attacks wisely” type character, especially against offense. His bike super having invincibility is great news, if it’s anything like Sent’s Hard Drive it could that one escape tool he needs
Noticed this also, but I think it’s fair to say no one really knows how to use GR yet and Justin didn’t exactly have the greatest team layout for GR. He wasn’t using his shrapnel projectiles which cover a nice angle, the heartless spire is apparently godlike but I didn’t see usage of that either, his bike as we can see has invincibility, looks like a viable option to use, especially against that Beam/Finger lasers+Drones keepout but Justin probably didn’t know that. I think players will need to make much bigger use of his moveset to survive a match played at that kind of intensity. This is all just my assumption of course
Should add that Dios was being lame as hell, playing like it was tournament grand finals or something
Guys, I’m surprised nobody checked for this but look at Ghost Rider’s health in that video. It’s just armor, not invincibility. Ghost Rider very clearly, at least in my opinion, takes damage from the Shockwave, he just doesn’t stop.
So, it might not always be the best idea to bust out a bike at the sight of a Super.
Dios just trolled that entire mini tournament.
Wow. How’d I miss that the first time?
You are right! O_O
With very low health, Ghost Rider should not punish a chip hyper (unless of course you XFC first) with SOV. Still though, I am wondering how many hits of armor it actually has!
LOL! Nice catch. Armor though? So they decided instead of startup inv or projectile inv. They’d give him armor? :lame:
Yea it kinda sucks, although maybe they have a legit reason for it, especially when paired with some of the follow ups to the hyper, maybe he can jump off and send the bike off as a projectile. Besides, id rather have armor than nothing, which prior to a couple hours ago was all we thought we had. So honestly Im just grateful it has something.
link plz.
This isn’t such a buzzkill. The Bike just has Hyper Armor, meaning it can Blaze through any attack. Hopefully it has the same amount of Hyper Armor as Nemesis’ Rush Super, because I can still think of some brutal setups with it…
From what Ive seen from the new cast so far, GR will be that dark horse that everyone is sleeping on.
I still think it’s nice it at least has armor because that means your opponent can no long throw out random hypers recklessly.
Also, do you think it will be a better combo ender than Maelstrom?
Not if J Wong picks him up… much like wolverine…
Seriously I picked up wolverine day one, then J Wong started playing him in tourneys, then everyone played him. It’s not as fun when everyone plays ur char, and whines about it constantly.
I don’t want to discuss wolverine in comparison to GR. I know they’re different and Wolverine was inherently broken… Which I kind of hope for GR :badboy:
jk as long as he’s decent and balanced then it’s cool.
Depends on the damage I guess. The bike super can end in a soft knockdown right? That probably means it’d be better to DHC out of and it’d probably do more damage if you get the proper followups. The chain whip will probably be better to DHC in to
This time I think Wong will stay away. He tends to use characters with a lot of mobility for cross-ups and confusion. And we all know Blaze’s strength isn’t that…
I reckon Justin will stick with Wolv tbh but if he does use GR, it’s because he found some hella cheap and abusable tech with him
I heard F.Champ was gonna pick him up
Thats how It may be, I have no problem with it.
Its just funny how people tend to sleep on good char until a pro player does great with them.
Edit:Im also sadden that GR doesn’t have a Danny Ketch Blue flame color.
Blehh. I can’t believe I was careless enough to miss this. Jeez, sorry bro’s. Sorry for leading you astray.
