Stickied
yeahh sticky
so…anymore info about sticks?
any questions? ^^
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS A STICKY!
Actually I’ve got a question.
Is the HAPP competition stick top mounted?
I need to know that before I start building my arcade stick case…
Competition stick is bottom mounted.
Thanks, that was a fast answer - I had that doubt because of MAS super pro sticks photos, were you can see the bolts around the sticks
Another MAS related question: Could someone that have a MAS STICK regular size, measure it so we can CLONE the box? I mean, having exactly the same box that a MAS super pro stick has :looney:
PLZ answer; my dedicated thread about this, it’s probably the most lonely one at SRK
I could never find the specific answer to my question while search the threads but anyways:
Q: I know that Happs are a pain to fit in a T5 stick, so I’m looking at Sanwa parts. Excatly what sanwa parts can fit in a T5 stick with out having to be sanded. And for the sticks that do have to be sanded, I’m a little confused as to where you are suppose to do the sanding.
there are tiny tabs that will fit only hori buttons
you have to sand them down irregardless
dont use sandpaper
use a metal filer
And what about the sticks? Which ones fit fine in the T5? And if there are none, what do I have to do to them to make them fit. Sanwa sticks I mean.
what are the biggest advantages and cons when comparing sanwa vs seimitsu sticks and bottons?
WTF happened to all the people that actually knew about sticks?
They’re probably not answering the questions because those questions have already been answered. Just use the search function and do a bit of reading -_-;
Ditto.
The 10th Anniversary Tekken 5 stick for the last time only has Hori parts, there is no Sanwa or Seimitsu material in them.
So many people keep on suggesting the Search function but its NOT WORKING!!! I keep on being sent to a blank white page whenever I tell it to search for something.
hmm you are right. ill try and get it fixed
My knowledge is certainly not all-comprehensive, but I hope I can be helpful. Every person I know of who has dropped Sanwa buttons into the T5 stick has needed to sand off the tabs. The sides of the Sanwa buttons are smooth, while the Hori ones that come in the T5 stick have notches in them. The metal plate on the top of the T5 stick has tabs that fit into these notches, ostensibly to prevent the buttons from rotating.
If you’re going to the trouble of putting Sanwa buttons in, it isn’t too much trouble to sand off the tabs - with a proper metal file from Home Depot or something it has taken my friends roughly an hour. I’ve not done this particular modification myself yet. The only trick seems to be making sure you sand all of the tab off - it is easy to think you’ve got it all, but really you haven’t gotten all of it, and the hole is an oval instead of a perfect circle. You want a perfect circle. It is better to be a little excessive and grind more metal away then to grind too little and snap your new button with the force.
This is hearsay, but since nobody else has answered you, or I missed it, here goes. Sanwa sticks and buttons are a bit shorter, with less throw (distance travelled) when operated. Generally they are the same shape and diameter. People have told me that Sanwas are more popular for fighting games whereas Seimitsu is more for the shmup scene. However, I built my homebrew stick with a Sanwa stick meant for shmups (taller and longer throw, and stiffer) but I use it mostly for fighting games. Really, it’s down to preference, what you like, and what your hand fits. I’m sure you cannot go ‘wrong’ per se, just less tuned to you.
Hope this helps.
