It would be great to watch a live stream of east tx battling it out. You guys should do this at your next event.
jesse, I want all of tyler to go to this also. ALL OF TYLER!!! I wanna c ya’ll duke it out. This is funny, because I didn’t think any city around tyler played anything other than madden and tekken.
Yes sir that needs to happen. I just talked to Amp on the phone. Cool guy but he seemed a little nervous lol. Lost his train of thought over the phone and forgot some stuff he wanted to ask. Cool guy never the less. If we can get things set up with Amp we’ll definitely start recording/streaming our matches for the public to see. I want to get East Texas on the map!
I’m going over the logistics now about trying to get a stream running out of someone else’s place. I’ll tell you it definitely won’t be happening this Friday.
I think one of the best scenarios would just be me buying an internal capture card, but I’d have to haul my PC wherever I go.
Something else that came up is I don’t know how the dude over where we’re getting together interfaces his console to his TV, if it’s HDMI, then you guy’s would either have to switch to component or I’d have to be out another ~$300 getting an HDMI Capture card, Distribution Amplifier, and Signal Splitters.
Then again I guess that’s all stuff to discuss once we get going.
As for sounding nervous on the phone, lol. I’m an introvert, and I socialize very little, so if I become a regular, I’ll likely end up the weird motherfucker of the group.
We play on PS3 and 360 so we could definitely go with component either way. I say do what you feel most comfortable doing man. I’d appreciate your efforts and help however I can regardless. When I get a steady income rolling in I’d be more than happy to pitch in towards new equipment, I mean this is the for the sake of putting East Texas on the scene and letting WC/EC know they’re not the only ones hungry.
And on being the weird one of the group. Real talk, I’d say we all got our quirks man. We’ll be a bunch of weird motherfuckers together!
I thought he was using some pro-highlevel thousand-dollar equipment for Devastation. Turns out he tells me all he used was the BlackMagic Intensity Pro. I can get that card for less than $200. I don’t even need a distribution amp. The BMI Pro can handle DA for both HDMI and component. I can run EITHER a component or HDMI signal from the console to my capture card, then run HDMI to the TV. So I can get the tech running as long as we can manage to clear enough space away to run my equipment (Computer+monitor, maybe set up a mic if we want to capture hype noise as well), and get enough and long enough cables, we should be good to go.
Damn, even I’m getting some major hype for the potential we just unlocked.
Apologies for the double post but I just wanted to say very good games to Tyler tonight and thanks for coming out. They endured the heat trap that was my place and I apologize. We’ve never had so many people before so the idea that it’d be cool after say 8:30 was a fleeting dream lol. But once again I appreciate you guys coming out and giving us a very hype Friday night game night. =P Mercedes and Adam both apologized for not making it out tonight, work was a beast for both of them so they had that “Fuck it stay home” syndrome. My roomie also throws thanks for coming out. GG Tyler and grats on winning the SBO-style tourney. Seth was BEAST-mode!
Edit: And thanks to Amp for making the trip out, glad to have ya join the East Texas crew man.
Man, looking back on Friday, I was surprised as all hell to see what I did. I was expecting to be the only true nerd there after watching the general community for so long and seeing things like any video where you can hear Yipes opening his mouth. Then I went into Ikaru’s place and saw anime wallscrolls, A-Kon badges. Even later people were showing up with Neon Genesis Evangelion shirts on. I even got into trash talk and nearly challenged to a money match for Pokemon and discussions about the lore of Street Fighter. Damn. I want more of this crew already, and definitely feel proud to be a member now.
As far as my plans for my hardest contribution to this group, I think I may have some disappointing news.
Looking at my bank account, taking into account BlazBlue, KoFXII, SF4 on PC, and now the probable weekly drives to Longview, a capture card is less viable right now than I thought. I was thinking maybe in 2 weeks or so I could get it done and we could start working on streams and VoD’s, but now it’s looking like it’ll be maybe a month, to a month and a half out.
If I can find a way to raise the money I’ll do what I can.
Looking for east texas tourney’s and or groups to play with
I live in tyler texas and am looking for some people to get together and play SF IV, maybe get involved in some tourney’s if there are any. Just tryin to step my game up, lol thanks
