Me vs PsychoSupreme was 8-2 as well.
We were a little late last night, 1AM should get the last salty runbacks then pack up. Anyone want to consider playing Monday/Tuesday instead of Thursday? I’m done class at 6, so fastest I’ve made it to Ben’s is 6:30. If we do Tuesday, could start at 4:00 or something. Just throwing it out there.
We’ll try to organize a weekend session at my or Alvin’s place sometime Sat/Sun afternoon to get Ra’id and Mihai to play some sets. I can definitely play Sat, we’ll see about Sunday.
I can’t really make it out until 6 anyway. I’m done work at 5, usually stay a few mins extra, takes me 15-20 minutes to get home, then I eat something quick and then leave so it’s always at least 6 by the time I make it. I don’t mind playing on a different day though and obviously you can start without me (no recording though).
Also Joe check your FB messages the fate of the galaxy depends on it.
Dammit, I also forgot I went 1-9 in Alvins favor and 6-4 for Ryan’s favor for AE. At least I learned DO NOT BLOCK/WALK BACK IF YOU THINK GUY IS GOING FOR HIS AIR COMMAND THROW. Dash Cammy DASH.
I can also host generally any other times outside of Thursday’s as well. Rough time of 4 and after (depending on how busy my work day is) is good, IMO, more days with perhaps not as long/late sessions would help? It would also be beneficial to Drew’s health for this, because his noise level could end up invoking the wrath of Steph if she is sleeping. Plus I can drag a setup to whereever as need be if there are issues at times for people getting to my place.
Sunday night might be out for me this week, but I should be free Saturday for more…if I have…Marvel. Just not exclusively Marvel…please?
Ben be careful dashing against bushin flip throw, i’d say just crouch you can block everything from the flip blocking low and he can’t throw you when crouched (yes the elbow can be blocked low). however watch out for regular jump.
Most times was a conditioning punish that Alvin was nailing me with from it. I was blocking high or thinking I could walk back when he would flip (thus causing me to stand block and eat it) so that is one of the issues. I will have to learn to keep the OS crouch tech in mind, but sometimes I was reacting fast enough at times to dash foward under it with Cammy with some success. Mind you, I will have to try this on Monney and see how well this holds up under the way he plays Guy. But that floaty jump of Guy’s can be a cross up nightmare to deal with.
You shouldn’t need to do any of these things…Cammy can on reaction do:
-c. jab
-s. jab (can cross him up after the reset, Sakura style)
-s. strong
-c. strong
-s. fierce
-c. fierce
-DP
-s. forward
-c. short
-c. forward
etc. I gave you all these options to show you how easy it is to beat the move, what you use is up to you. Just stick the counters you feel most comfortable with. Personally, I’m a fan of s. strong/fierce.
This took just 1-2 minutes of training mode testing. Set the dummy to record, and do what Alvin did to you, then figure out how to beat it.
Vs the regular elbow, most of the above options fall apart, but she can still do:
-s. fierce
-s. strong
-c. forward
The first two are especially reliable.
Remember, learning the matchup related stuff, combos, etc. is relatively easy, since you can do it alone or you can find out on the strategy forum or ask someone here. Your #1 goal now (if you care enough) should be to become fundamentally sound, and then you can start focusing on your opponent, cause the key to winning is out thinking the guy next to you…but to do that, you need to know the basics first.
I won’t make it to casuals this week so no recording this week (keep doing the bo10’s though). I’ll be back next week. Good luck to everyone going to Smash Up.
OK GUYS IM FINALLY BACK ON PSN: tonyandjuri… dont ask why i chose that sn i forgot my old psn pw so yea practice mode is on once i get a copy of the game itself… gyea
If anyone’s free Thursday afternoon, there’s a $15 charity “team” tournament at Wal-Mart at Argyle. I was gonna go, but it’s around 4 when I’ve got class. The organizer deserves the support if we can get three people. Drew needs teammates to carry to victory. Here’s the FB and description:
Also I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I’M DOING in Soul Calibur 5. Leixia is so much slower than Xianghua (but if these stupid combos I’m finding are actually legit then she does big damage really easy)… Raphael seems fun, I haven’t tried Xiba yet even though I used to play Kilik (I want to try someone new anyway)… but is there no replacement/successor for Talim?
They starting to set up at 2 and claims there’s casuals until 4. I might go (Ben if you still want we can grab one of the better players hopefully there and make a team) anyone else think they could make it?
