It’s like…howz about you guys stop jerking each other off (my favorite line is BEST [insert random character] in Canada, so worthless) and start training to beat ppl that are actually good. Winning local tourneys or even Canadian majors is great and all, but the time that some of these fools invest, you’d thing they’d wanna actually get on the highest level instead of dick riding the true top players (read: US/Japan).
As someone who went from LoL --> Dota and now dislikes LoL, all this LoL talk makes me sad.

SF4 was nearly impossible to play on iOS so I can’t imagine this being any better but I’m still kind of excited for some reason.

Also, can you point me to a site that shows all the items u can buy based on champion? Cause I tried reading guides, and I tried using the recommended items, but I think now I’m gonna try my way and pick items based on my style of play. I was gonna test out items in a bot game, but I think it would be easier if I could just see them all online first and then make a realistic buy order (cause sometimes I don’t make nearly enuf gold to buy the items in the guides).
Look for guides on solomid.net. Garen is good and counterpicks some other high tier top-lane picks like Riven and Renekton. He gets shit on by Olaf and Teemo though. Most people get his skill order wrong for the first while when they play him though. Level 1 get Q (E does nothing at level 1 except push your lane which you don’t want), then Max E, putting 1 point in W at either level 2 or level 4 (get it at level 2 if you just want to farm, get it at level 4 if you want rank 2 E at level 3 for a kill attempt). Max R whenever available obviously, when E is maxed max Q and then max W last.
Also as tempting as it is to build tanky on him you end up not being a threat late game because you won’t deal any damage and have no real disruption (and Garen is tanky enough on his own). You can go Warmog’s/Atma’s but I usually just rush Infinity Edge and then get either Guardian Angel or Frozen Mallet. Sunfire is good too but only if you already do decent damage and need the armor. Once you have those core items if the game is still going you can go for Force of Nature or get a Quicksilver Sash if there’s a lot of enemy disables.
Play 3 months ago and stack sunfire capes. Best strategy.

Yo I was sooo rusty at the first few matches, I had just been playin skullgirls all day lol, my fingers were pressing the wrong buttons for a while. Just when I got the hang of it there was a random DC. Shame, the lag was minimal and I was about to go on a win streak! I didn’t get to show u the fruits of my labor lol. I’m playin characters u discarded. You didn’t get to see dark arthur or nemesis resets. Next time! I will also show u super skrull skills while I’m at it.

Stephan I don’t know if you come here anymore but ggs today, that was a nice experience to shake off the rust in SF2, also good practice for when I return to london and run SF2 and CVS2 sets with Chris W for a full day (yes chris we are doing this BTW you have no say in it LOL). I used mine for SC5 but only because it had turbo button and I wanted to cheat to get player lvl 99 and unlock costumes (taped it down and went to work, beat easy mode computer 600-0 by the time I got back lol, Andrew stebel level commitment there). I just can not get the hang of stick 
so forever a scrub I guess.
If any of you has skullgirls lets duke it out. The GGPO netcode is tight there is no lag to speak of (can’t say the same for Marvel lol).

I agree actually, especially given the fact that players who are not underdogs at all (they want to let Joe in, seriously?) are allowed in, but you should tell that to the hosts, not to us. For now I’m just going to take advantage of the opportunity for an easier shot at money.
Ya whatever, this generation of SF keeps getting more retarded each day. Everyone has an HQ??? Underdog tournaments??? Games keep getting shittier and shittier while all the old generation players die off and more new age scrubs continue to come in. People are more excited to watch SF than play it. People care who has drama with other people. And worst of all, no arcades left. Im just gonna play SF2 and the rest of the old games. Even SF4 seems godlike by comparison these days.

ima try to spice things up a bit here. not sure if underdog was the right word to use for them. you can play in those as long as you havent won a tournament from what i hear. gives other players a chance at some money which is always nice motive, gives them a taste of glory, further motivation to participate in future tournaments. players will still get a chance to level up since there are still good players participating. even the top players not allowed to participate are around, i’m sure they’re down for casuals, they’ve never turned me down, nor have i really felt honoured to play them. so false hope or not, leveling up is still happening, scene is still growing, and who cares if their egos are being fed. smart people would be able to set that aside and take these underdog things for the good they are. then again, how many smart people are left in this world… haha i really shouldnt troll my own posts if i’m trying to make an argument.
Alvin, your points are valid, but this isn’t some isolated incident…it’s part of a bigger chain of events that represent the downfall of real competition.
It’s like saying that SFXT has good things about it, and that if you give it a try, you can take good things away from it, but the reality is that SFXT isn’t just a piece of shit among good games, it’s a piece of shit that’s very indicative of a bigger trend towards ez mode SF.
Now apply what I said to these underdog tournies, it becomes clear that events such as these are attempts at ez mode’ing the scene and making it “noob friendly” when in reality, SF has always been about survival of the fittest. If organizers dumb their scene down and go all “Care Bear”, then the SF scene loses its heart and soul.
Perhaps that is what ppl want subconsciously…to attract the masses, become corporate bitches, gain e-fame, double their e-peen, sell their souls and go e-sport.

Anyway, I wanted to add that a perfect example of this trend towards ez mode’ing the scene and getting e-fame is paying for top players to come to your tourney. In the past, your scene had to be really good to attract the attention of top players so that they could test themselves (which is what SF is all about), but now you can just whore yourself out like a bitch and get something that used to be far more difficult to get.
Ppl don’t wanna work hard for anything anymore, they want the easy way out.
Not enough players? Eliminate the competition! Yeah awesome! Let’s make SF easier so the scrubs come out of their hidey holes.
Can’t get good players to come? Throw money at them!! Yeah, nice.
