Before I would tryhard every game and try to make up for retards on my team picking 5 carries by tanking/jungling and then rage because we had horrible team comp. Now I just pick whoever I want and try to have fun even if my team is shit.

Anyone tried Rabadon’s Deathcap? That item sounds amazing, especially its passive. Guessing that’s a must have for any AP character.

Pretty much. If youre going AP you want the cap. Makes you scale better, has the most AP of any item, isnt hard to get.
Too many goddamn AP yi’s now.
Our 2 losses tonight were attributed to AP Yi’s. I admit in one of the games I was doing badly too, but when you get 15 deaths by the 30 minute mark it’s hard to do anything without dying.
AP Yi is still horrible IMO. Alpha Strike doing like 500 damage to all the enemy champions is nice, but late game becomes pretty useless. Tried it out and the other team just ignored me and targeted the carries on the team that did more damage. After Alpha Strike you pretty much got nothing unless you have a Lich Bane also for some extra damage.
AP yii was never horrible. He’s great in the lane, alpha strike is great harass and is almost impossible to punish hard, and even then trading blows is fine because meditate will keep you in the lane forever. He is weaker in the team fight phase but he’s far from only worthwhile with alpha strike. Even with just sheen, wuju style, his ult, and his passive he will eat squishies alive and with alpha strike and his ult he is very mobile and much harder to stop from getting to the ranged squishies. With lichbane he can output some pretty serious damage and meditate can keep you up under focus fire if they’ve already blown their stuns. Not to mention the massive cool down reduction on enemy death with his ult up, that’s another 500 damage to the entire enemy team every time they lose someone. I’m not saying he is super amazing or anything, but he’s just as viable(if not more so) than AD yii and lots of other chars.
edit: He also still destroys towers like a mofo.

I just tried AP yi. Horrible mid/late game. really good early game though
I will personally never play as ap yi. Nigga is a samurai and will stay ad anytime I play as him.

AP Yi sucks mid and late game, where it counts. Staying in the lane forever is great, but AP Yi can’t take down towers as fast as AD Yi. The best Yi build IMO is lifesteal + crit.

AP Yi is terrible regardless. Alpha strike…then run away as your team gets smashed.

He still does mediocre damage, and has some burst with Lichbane, but it is kind of a wonky build. If he gets fed the burst is pretty hirarious, though…
