I tried it but couldn’t get into it… i guess it’s due to Dota and then HoN that nearly overshadowed LoL for me…
Heh, I was the exact opposite. After I played LoL I felt no desire to ever play Dota or HoN again.

The summoner is basically you, the person controlling the champion(hero). Aside from that, you, the summoner, get to choose two spells to use which get unlocked as your level progresses.
For example, you can take a healing spell that does i think 300hp + (15 x Level), and Smite, a non-champion targetable spell that does 400 damage + (15 x level). Something along those lines.
