On certain characters Dorans Ring is awesome, such as, Cho Gath.
But yeah its very niche.
Shield is easily the most forgiving, pretty much any character can pick this up and it be a good choice, ive watched a top 50 ranked player stream his Ashe using it FFS.

Best ezreal ive ever seen, had multiple tiamats.
Still throws me for a loop.
That Ez actually works fairly well against high CC teams just get them bunched up and watch them die.
the 10 win IP boost was from the changes they made to the IP system. It started giving less IP for normal timed games so when all the kids kept whining they shut em up by giving everyone who played on patch day a 10 win IP boost.
Same feelings here… After you realize that he can no longer burst, he is actually pretty fun and better mid/late game imo

Played alistar last night, so damn fun. Got the solo lane against Janna and xin and made them my bitch, got damn near every last hit.
This morning played a game as mundo with the solo lane against nasus, so fun, wasn’t letting him last hit anything, if he tried my masochism was making him pay for it big time. And when someone tried to help him I killed them both 
First time I went back to base I bought my full starks as first item lol. Then ported back to lane with my doran’s shield (starter item) and starks and just kept on farming. It feels good to go where I pleases. Ended the game 11-4(I think) only times I died was because I tried to go too hard And 1v4

YUP! you can even set it up to auto join the chat channel by clicking on the little gear icon in the chat window and marking ‘auto join on startup’
or some wacky magic like that.

I used to main Nasus.
As DPS Nasus I build Triforce and Atma’s.
Triforce is obvious since it procs on every SS.
Atma’s Impaler has great synergy with his ult.
