Live action JLA movie delayed due to Writer's Strike

I know that a lot of people weren’t looking forward to this, but I was.

Citing script problems that couldnt be remedied during the writers guild strike, Warner Bros. has decided to let its options lapse on the cast for George Millers upcoming Justice League movie.

The project will now have to wait until the AMPTP and/or Warner Bros. make deals with the writers, actors and directors guilds. The latter two unions see their agreements with the studios come up for renewal this summer.

Those said to have been cast but now may or may not be available once production commences include:

Adam Brody (Wally West), who turns 29 in December;
Scott Porter (Clark Kent), who turns 29 in July;
Lonnie Common Lynn (John Stewart), who turns 36 in March;
Megan Gale (Diana of Themyscira), who turns 32 in August.

Many in talkback will be thrilled that that such young actors may not play these iconic DC superheroes.

But. Look at the ages of other actors when they played their superhero roles:

Christopher Reeve, 24 in 1976;
Lynda Carter, 24 in 1975;
Christian Bale, 29 in 2003;
Brandon Routh, 25 in 2004.

Wasn’t looking forward to it (well, more excited about Iron Man, Hellboy 2 and Batman Begins 2 to be honest) but I would of seen it out of curiosity at the very least.

This Writers Strike is freaking crazy… Yeash, give them more money what’s the big deal… Movies and TV shows are coming to a halt. Man, I hate reality shows but we are gonna get more and more of them the longer this goes on. I guess '09 movies may be swapped out for a lot of documentaries if this keeps up… :annoy:

EDIT: And Late Night with Conan is way better and much more funny WITHOUT their shit writers. Fuck 'em.

The entire reason they rushed this shit into preproduction in the first place was as an attempt to beat the strike. Nice try, Warners.

Now just put this movie in development hell where it belongs, and pretend this never happened.

I wouldn’t mind seeing him in a GL movie, but I never could get behind this JL project.

A Green Lantern Corps. movie with all the big name Green Lanterns would be really sweet. I’d much rather see that than a JL movie, at least at this point when so many DC comics don’t have their own franchises yet. Do a Flash movie, a GLC movie, and so on and so forth, THEN worry about teaming them up.

Fuck, I can’t believe John Stewart is in this film. Why couldn’t they simply go with the "real"lantern…geez its not even JL then. This movie jsut went to shits…
