|| Litchi || Thread of Mantenbou and Double D's

Yeah I’m the same one.

Litchi isn’t easy to use online at all, in fact…it’s pretty hard to time her staff into dash 6C combos depending on the connection. I mostly play player matches with locals when I really want to learn though. I’ve came across a handful of people that give me a hard time…like . So it’s not all that bad.

Ah, V-13 is no problem for me. It’s so funny how they play. Even when your airdashing right at them, they are hoping and praying that D will save them so they can mash it some more. Alot of them try to zone you with 5C and that 8 hit missle combo attack thingy (dunno what button it is, never used her, probably B) so they can mash D. But serioiusly, you’ll sometimes notice that they literally just stand there in the middle of the stage just trying to keep you away.

My only problems is pressure from Ragna and Jin since they can eat your health pretty fast if you’re not careful, Noel drive spamming in the corner (anywhere else, she’s not that bad) and Arakune’s who is good at staying away from your Mentabou. Good Arakunes are scary lol.

yeah good arakunes who can run away effectively really piss me off… i can handle most other characters at an okay level… cept tao… and good tao or a random tao can get the best of me sometimes… dunno why… i just always react to her speed a fraction late…

Ok…along with practicing throw combos and counter hit combos (6B is surprisingly very hard for me), I’ve been trying this combo quoted above, but without the j.B in bold there. I usually just do airdash j.C. The thing with this combo is that no matter how I try to time it, either it’s too early, or Matenbou doesn’t come back soon enough for 6C to connect (weird lol).

SO, this is the combo I can do consistenly:

623D > 66 > 6C > 2B 2C > sj.B j.C [D] > ]D[ > 66 (airdash) j.C > 6C > 623D > 6C > 3C

And I have virtually no problems doing 623D > 6B > 2C variation in the corner.

Another problem I’m having is combos from [m] 5B 5C, or [m] 5B 5C 3C. I know what the followups are, but I have an extremely difficult time hitting what I need to hit, especially in the case of 3C. What is the easiest followup for 5B 5C? I would just like advice/input before I put in another 5+ grueling hours of not fully getting the timing down

Magneto Maniac you are a god amongst men. Those videos are awesome!!

I think Litchi easily has it over Arakune just for her silly DP game. then if you’re cursed, the staff helps with getting that little poke needed to stop it granted you aren’t spazzing out during the return state.

I dunno that’s me. I’ve only fought 1 real good Arakune player and IIRC I slapped him with that one game I won against him with Hakumen…while the other 9 were lost with both Hakumen and Litchi.

New players start here.

Thanks, but I’m just average, really . Lord Knight teaches me a lot of stuff, he’s the most knowledgeable on here.

I have some matches being processed on my youtube for those who are curious against some matches against Jin and V-13. Not that I play the match ups the best, but I try to adapt and maybe you guys can see what to refrain from doing. :china:

I’m trying to play her, but I’m not reading combos just making 'em up as I go along.

How viable is 2369C after 5C -> 3C? Its knocking them OTG and up for more, and it seems consistent but I do fuck up, which I blame on myself and the 360 D-pad.

Followup that 2369 C with 2C, 6C, tsubame(DP+D), 6C, 3C.

You might need to do the 2C a little late, but it should all work. It’s the Shounen special. :]

hey… if you eat a big combo (ie Nu’s million sword DD) with Litchie’s Inutsu (the revolving staff reversal) what is her more viable offensive option?.. whenever i block Nu’s DD with it i never have a big enough gap to counterattack before they rush in for a grab or something… wat’s your guys’ thoughts?.. oh and Maniac those vids are cool watchu use to capture them?

Good matches Mag. That guy’s Jin is pretty good. Only ones I face online are scrubby C mashers.

^^ agreed, good stuff Mag. I’m gonna have to start working that j.C, 421C corner mixup into my game…

Nice read! I honestly think I will need to just try better to understand everything I’m doing, nothing but practice practice practice from this point on

Nice play Mag  I saw you using some combo variants that might make my training a LOT easier

Thanks everyone for the feedback . I’ll try and step it up more, my offense was a bit lacking in terms of being blocked. More throws into itsuuA will be attempted next time. I’ll be playing much more once SF4 (ew to some of you, I know) EVO out the way. Gotta finish what I started in SF4, one last time .

couldn’t find in LK’s guide, so some useful stuffless combos? (6A, or B as starters)
thx

:
still didn’t catch on, how do i control the way i send the stuff after i planned him? (the quick horizontal or the slower in arc)
its not disturbing my combos, since i always get there the version needed, but still, it would be nice to know how i do those :stuck_out_tongue:

ugh, GOD do I hate noel. what a whore, how is this bitch not top tier, she pisses me off so much.

She’s not that great…

 • She has to be near point blank for her full mix ups

 • Comparing output damage to the rest of the cast…she’s definitely at the bottom half

 • Her oki is not as powerful as some characters put you in

 • Her range is very lacking

don’t mind me, just ranting after losing to every noel I’ve fought today, she’s my goddamn kryptonite, no one frustrates me more. Guess I just need to learn the matchup…:coffee:

6A can link into 236A into whatever…

I think you can actually link her rekkas from any staffless normal, with the exception of I think 6C.

I think B links into 6A, but I’m not sure if they register a combo.

6B can link to B

2C can link to 6C

B C 2C 3C 623D(hote) 2B 2C into air combo

236A 236C rapid-cancel into combo

standard air combos is either;

j.B dj.B C 236B 236C

or the classic

j.B C D 66 C land into ground combo

hopefully that provides you with a basic chart of how to run Litchi staffless.

the trajectory is based on how you place the staff.

5D, j.2D, 6A, 632146D all cause the staff return to arc up.

2D, j.D, 3C, 623D, and 41236D~* all cause the staff to return horizontal
