Ling Xiaoyu Combo Thread

Watching Big Two right now. Does anyone know how Chris G did his sweep loop? it didnt look like a CADC. she didnt dash at all. she did all her sweeps in place. im guessing hes cancelling his sweep into a stance change, but i cant figure out how he does it so quickly… does anyone know how he does it?

edit: looks like hes cancelling into phoenix stance, and somehow he is able to almost instantly get out of it and do another sweep. i have no idea how hes doing it

Crouch cancel her stance. Df/Df+ppp then sweep

If he is canceling into Phoenix Stance, he might be doing cr.HK xx AOP [Down, Down] (to cancel out of AOP stance) -> cr.HK xx AOP, etc.

Will try later. Don’t have access to the game at the moment.

EDIT: I haven’t been keeping up with the thread lately, so I don’t know if there’s already an explanation in earlier posts.

Read the last 2 pages of this thread and you find multiple explanations on how its done.

i skimmed and i saw explanations on the CADC, but if this was here already im sorry i missed it.

i finally got it working and i must say that it is INFINITELY easier than CADC. i can finally get all 6 reps.

there’s actually no need to do this. today i discovered that you can actually raw tag after 6 cr.HKs and it will be completely safe (yes, the knockdown lasts that long!)

for those of you who are running xiaoyu on anchor, this has some pretty amazing implications since you can do chain -> launcher with your 1st character, have xiaoyu do a bunch of damage, and then safely tag back to your 1st character without having spent a single meter. battery xiaoyu is best xiaoyu!

also, thanks to the gems i’ve equipped on her (power gems with conditions: connect 5 normals, connect 10 normals, and partner connects launcher), she’s been doing stupid damage off simple exchange combos

Yep Ive been doing 540 damage meterless combos with this. I’ve been CADCing the 6 sweeps without much trouble. I know theres another way to do it but havent got the timing down. Not really sure if its worth it to do it after an overhead since you can do some easier combos for slightly less damage. Tried to do other combos before the 6th sweep like using Phoenix Talon for some extra damage but it seems to miss =( Doing it off of EX Fortune doesn’t seem to be bad damage either.

I actually can’t do the AOP cancel so consistently, haven’t tried the CADC version yet, but people say the first is so much easier…
I started to see Lings from Japan doing those c.HK loop online

You sound just like me.

First off, chill the fuck out as it’s just a game (I know I shouldn’t be talking but whatever). If you’re not having fun, you’re doing it wrong. I wasn’t having fun with Blazblue or Street Fighter 4, so I stopped playing them and moved on to different games that I find fun even when I *am *losing.

Second, realize that a lot of the guys you see in videos, tournaments and posting on here/other forums have been playing fighting games professionally (keyword: professionally) for 8+ years. Professionally as in they know what they’re doing, not that they win every tournament they go to (or even go at all). These guys have been dealing with 1-frame links and execution heavy games for a while.

Third, whether you want to or not…you’re going to have to invest time in training mode. No one likes doing it, it sucks, it’s tedious…but that’s how you get excellent execution and combos down. The more you practice, the easier all of this will get.

If you look through the thread, you can see me getting upset over not being able to get a dash-cancel combo down. It’s annoying as fuck, especially when other people seem to be executing it with such ease. I decided to leave it alone, move onto learning other things and come back when I see why you would ever need to even do that in a combo.

Again, you just need to calm all the way down and put forth the effort in getting better. If everyone could use infinites and high-execution combos/strings/whatever, there would be no ‘top’ play.

I apologize but I’m still not understanding how to do this exactly.

I try to cancel Phoenix Stance into cr.HK but I either get her PS sweep or she crouches to neutral.
And I’m not entirely sure on how to cancel cr.HK into Phoenix Stance either.

Press cr.hk then immediately press PPP then immediately tap down twice Or diagnal down twice then u start back at the cr.hk.

Wow fuck me for always picking up characters with dumbass loops and shit

First Raven in DR with his f,f+3 combos, Lee in T6 with his b+2~f wall carry bs, Fuerte RSF and Sakura Tatsu loops, Zero and his goddamn lightning loop, now Raven and Xiao in this. Why must I torture myself with shiiiiit???!!!

Salty rant aside. I’m actually having an easier time with the CADC loop (can get 4-6 off an overhead quite consistently now), is there any point me learning the stance cancel loop still?

I’ll try this, thanks.

Iam wondering the same thing but, from wat I’ve seen cadc sometimes crosses up in which case stance cancelin should be easier unless there is a pattern with the crossup

If you guys are still attempting the MP Hakkesho infinite, it’s a 1-frame special link loop… Meaning you don’t want to double-tap either, because remember, Hakkesho can be CHARGED. You’re gonna screw up your input, lol.

how in the heck do you cancel pheonix stance into sweep?

please enlighten me

I don’t mean to be an a-hole but that shits sall over these forums inparticular like 4 post above

You cannot cancel Phoenix Stance directly into sweep. After you go into Phoenix Stance, double tap down to cancel out of the stance. You’ll return to neutral, so you have to hit cr.HK again. If you apply it as an cr.HK anti-air…:

Cancel sweep into Phoenix Stance.
-> Cr.HK xx Cr.PPP

Cancel Phoenix Stance into neutral/standing/crouching.
-> [Down, Down]

Sweep.
-> Cr.HK

Repeat. Hope this clears things up.

Are people hitting this one more consistantly then the CADC loop?

Good point. From all the practical setups I’ve practiced, there does seem to be a pattern (dash unders will happen until the character is low enough). Might be character dependant. I think I’ll take the dash cancel version to offline casuals first. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll get to practicing on the stance cancels
