I got a question whats the most optimal combo for cross rush with Xiaoyu coming in all ive got is MP xx AOP > qcf+ HK was wondering if there was better and easier combo.
Dont really understand this combo since im guessing the qcf + P >P~P is the hp version even then all of the version of the move cause straight knockdown not allowing for follow up?
What is the fastest way to cancel a stance and go back to normal?
After he divekick move on guard it seems that holding a direction or pressing a button stops her from going to RD.
I’ve found out that you can jump cancel her stances with specials, for example if you are in AOP, doing 2369+K will do the divekick from normal stance, since jump cancels the stance, and a special during jump startup cancels the jump.
Apparently tapping down>down is the way to go back to normal (sorry, new to Xiao) but it seems too slow to be able to block after something that’s a bit negative on block.
I tried using jc CADC (2369P(hold) > dash) to backdash out of a stance but couldn’t find any shortcut motion atm to make the dash come out immediately.
So since I can’t order a Fight Stick yet I’m forced to play with a standard Xbox controller and it feels that Xiaoyu is going to be difficult with this, but I think I found an easier way to instant Phoenix Talon. Instead of pressing :d::3p:, if you just do :qcf::3p:, :k: it feels as if she does an instant Phoenix Talon. I’m trying to implement this into an actual combo, but my execution isn’t the greatest so this all falls under my training.
Ooh, this is pretty useful to know. Tried it myself and you gotta be careful to not accidentally get Fortune Cookie or Hakkesho by accident. I’m definitely practicing this one more.
BTW, for you practicing your links, chained normals will deal less damage. For example, cr.LP xx cr.HP will deal 93 as opposed to the 120 from a link.
Dang, I’m trying to combo into Xiaoyu’s :qcf: heavy punch and it’s just not working. Her medium punch continues to finish both hits, then when it does recognize I pressed Fierce, it goes into a launcher. her light punch specials don’t lead into any stance changes which is what the combo’s I see require, so how do I go about doing this? Am I supposed to mash out the command in the middle of the medium punch?
I suppose so. When I do far st :mp: into Fortune Cookie it works no problem, but when the :mp: is close, it strikes for two hits and it’s a recovery period after that. In fact… none of her crouching combos seem to work for me, especially since the guide list all her BnB’s with stance cancel switching and such.
Wait, I don’t know Tekken number terms, so it’s a little hard for me to translate those numbers. Are you saying I don’t have to input certain buttons or are you telling me a much easier way to stance cancel? Also, with the :mp: if it’s two hits, am I supposed to mash out the input during or right before the first hit to make the timing?
this is what i’ve been using just because i think s.mp is really good even though it’s 10f start and 2 active which sounds bad to me
the use i’ve got out of it has been good
i also agree with not banking on getting jumpins right now jumpins are pretty effective but i can’t see that being the case as time progresses.
