lili has been designed more to finish you off. You make a few bad reads and you die. Akuma makes one bad read he dies. I like that, it’s more tekken style, def no time out. She’s gonna be the no time out queen of sfxt.
Yeah you get it songi. I had to test just i case the second hit actually didn’t cause them to touch their toes, it does. So pretty much f.lk is the get the fuck up move for her buuuuuuut f.lk isn’t safe so you have to special cancel or be minus afterward. So it’ll be vital now to get those peacock jive hit confirms because it can lead to a standing reset because of how easy the link is now. If you can’t link stand jab into f.mk this coming patch you need to work on your st. lp to st. mp hit confirm lilis. I’m gonna amp up your training regiment lilis!
Thank goodness the game isn’t forcing me to get perfect with that stupid 1f link (st. :lp:, cr. :hp:)! Ugh I can’t ever pull it off consistently online and I always get blown up for it.
You must be crazy. Her buffs more than make up for that considering if you hit Andante early (which you should be due to the immense start-up time) you won’t trade. Honestly I rarely get a chance to use it now that people are finding new ways to cause me to whiff it. It will still be a great anti-air and still good for those flashy combos. Thanks for the insignificant nerf because I was scared my “hail mary” Ex Sunflower Lance was gonna get hit hard! Business as usual for me.
smh honestly that was her best anti air tool but not her only. she still has a great. c.hp anti air. You can anti air with standing mk which also has invincibility at it’s highest arch and prevents cross ups. She has lp counter which stops the air attack and counters them for 180. EX angel knee may cost a meter but now you can do 40% easily on an opponent who is jumping and it’s FULLY INVINCIBLE. She also has air throw and her air to airs are by far one of the best in the game. Tbh i barely use andante because she has soo many other tools to rely on. If you solely only rely on that anti air well sucks for you i suppose.
oh btw. Lili already has her faster walk speed. 1.07 updated her to it. I found it out while walking with her a duuuh lol. It looked different but yeah she waddles her butt a little faster now -drool-

I’m not seeing how f+LK forcing a stand is such a huge deal in terms of combo potential. Cr.HP already forces a stand and could already be linked off of st.LP.
Now we no longer have to rely on a 1f link to accomplish that. Giving us more options. I’ll take whatever hand-outs they wanna give her. At this point Lili is so rich she’s feelin entitled like Mitt Romney!
with her huge buff to meter gain, Lili will be able to force a stand and moves such as sunflower lance wound whiff and require you to do two moves to prevent it from whiffing and us dying. Capcom really studied lili and probably noticed all the whiff sunflower lances. It’s really a god sent buff to her and why i think it’s her best buff. Sure ex angel knee is nice since it does 110 damage and can be combo’d but it requires meters. Plus the otg is gonna be so hard to hit normally, you really have to set it up because otherwise she whiffs.
I can’t wait, I get myself blown up often for trying Sunflower Lance on an opponent in the corner only to flip over my opponent. Meter gain buff means I will be able to use Ex Sunflower Lance a lot more often and use more meter without worrying about having to gain it all back. All of these changes are turning Lili into an even more attractive girl than she already was.
and she still won’t be ‘scrub friendly’. So new lilis will still be at a loss of what to do at first. My guide should be completed sometime next week. The basic introduction at least. What i’ve found for the future set ups for otg come in this form. (Yeah I’ll be a nice guy and share some future tech) Normally when you’re in the mid screen there is no way to have Lili do angel ascension without it whiffing. Atm i dunno what the hitbox is suppose to be like but if it can hit from behind her it’ll be kinda stupid but funny. It’s only 30 damage to start so you have to weigh in is the meter worth it because you may whiff and then you’ll die. Most characters have wake up invincibility so there would be no way to hurt them after you whiffed. You’re better off setting up your 50/50 dive kick mix up because of her increase buff to meter gain.
But JKF what does this all mean?
Means you can’t do the otg in the mid screen and in most cases its a waste of meter. Even if you’re eager to test things out I did find one set up. The set up is in the corner. Sunflower lance is outta the question because after the hard knock down you’ll whiff. Remember this is just future tech talk. We won’t know how it really works until the day of the patch. Anyway here is the one set up i found…
In the corner and after you air throw them. If you air throw them it leaves them in a long enough grounded state where both moves would hit and she would get the otg. What you’re trying to do when testing this out is making sure the second hit of the move is hitting some part of their body because you’re launching them up but what you’ll find nine times outta then is she freaking goes over the length of her opponents body, yeah even the tall ones, and whiffs the second hit leaving one meter less.

My point was that she could already force a stand in the same situation that F+LK would, and get higher damage to boot. Still not seeing why this is such an incredible buff. And in what situations would you have SL whiffing? Never had that problem occur during combos.
But you have to chain it or do a one frame link. This f.lk buff makes it a legitimate 2 frame link from st. lp. If you want to do the one frame link you’re more than welcome to I’m not gonna stop ya. The buff does more than just add damage it also adds mix up. If you force a stand you can go into mix up and another way to hit a standing reset. You may say that cr.hp can do the same but look at it as another tool that you can utilize in your overall game.
example of sunflower lance whiff. Opponent is crouching. You do cr.mp and go to do sunflower lance, you whiff first attack. You die.
Now you can…cr.mp>st.lp>F.lk (force stand)> lk angel knee> cr.hp> sunflower lance. this combo would not be available outside of the opponent standing.
What you need to keep in mind that she builds crazy meter now. As i said up in my analysis that sunflower lance builds 65 meter now. So in one combo you should have one bar. if you do sunflower lance you will put them in a long hard knock down state.
s.LP, cr.HP honestly isn’t that hard of a link, and it’s even easier to get used to with plinking. Understandable if you prefer being able to rely on F+LK, but I definitely think you should try getting used to the cr.HP link before dismissing it as “lolol one frame link”.
Also, If you didn’t want sunflower lance to whiff, all you had to do was cr.MP, cr.MK xx LK SL (or cr.MP, cr.MP xx LK SL) for it to fully connect on crouchers. Cr.MP, s.LP doesn’t work anyways due to cr.MP’s pushback.
All I’m seeing are things she already had access to. s.LP, F+LK acting as a mixup opportunity is nice due to the frame advantage on hit, but it doesn’t seem like a huge deal to her imo.
yeah i see where you’re coming from. The only reason i don’t do the st.lp to cr.hp link is that if you miss the link you’re -2 which isn’t a big deal. She has other one frame links such as st. lp.> st.lk> cr.mk (all one frame link combo) So if you mess up at any point you’re +1 or 0 on block and it acts as a high low mix up block string which you could do sunflower lance on.
Dude why don’t you talk more on the boards. You seem very knowledgeable as a lili player. Would be nice to hear you experiences as a lili player. New ones should be coming soon.
Lastly, yeah i looked towards the mix up she can get after the f.mk force stand. You can dendrobium, sunflower lance and stop after the first hit, you could cadc, you could even feisty rabbit. It’s all up to you at the end of the day.
I haven’t played the game in a while and felt like what I mostly know about the character (optimal confirms/combos and such) was already known, but I guess not (I’ve already posted some of it as well). And off of f.LK I was thinking along the lines of going straight into high/low with cr.LK/f.HK or throw/TK EX Divekick.
You’re only -1 on hit with the move so it’s not that bad. Most of the time the opponent is expecting the worse so it works in your favor. Well we’re glad to have you with us again.
