Thanks everyone for your help! Has anyone figured out a way to try to get the LED more centered in the pushbutton? I want to get close to the equal illumination offered by the Arc-Eyes
I’m not exactly sure how you would go about it but maybe using a defuser would help dissipate the light to you liking. Sorry I dont have details just ideas
Alright, quick question for those who have done the 4-input NAND logic chip (74HCT20) joystick direction activation mod… I’ve wired everything according to the datasheet for that IC and hooked everything up to my stick to test out and well… it does the opposite of what Kaytrim’s video shows… instead of lighting up when a direction is inputed the LED stays continually lit and turns off when a direction is inputed… Can anyone advise me on what may be the problem?
ya, that should work… i don’t believe the gauge of wire will affect anything… just makes things easier if u have to thread the wire thru any small spaces.
Thanks. One more quick question. If I tap into the power and ground in the USB of the SE Madcatz Fightstick, can I still put a switch along the power line? I can imagine times when I don’t want the buttons to light up.
I think I get everything in this thread, and almost have everything that I need. However, I don’t know where I would hook my +5v cables and ground cables to. Can anyone take a photo of where to connect to the PCB for a TE stick? I can’t seem to find any diagrams saying where the live and ground are on there. I can see some places called “GND”, but I just want to make real sure I’m hooking up the right stuff.
Instead of connecting the signal wire from the button and the signal wire from the LED to the same pin on the Hex inverter, can I just connect the wire from the LED using the solderless method along with the signal wire to the pushbutton, and solder the other end of the LED wire alone to the pin on the Hex inverter? I hope that makes sense.
I had an idea. Would it be possible to install 2 LEDs in one pushbutton - to achieve more equal illumination? I was thinking I could daisy the ground from 1 LED to the other. The only question is, the power that the 2 LEDs receive from a common wire… would the resistor be the same? Am I allowed to have 1 resistor, then 1 wire split to go to two LEDs for one pushbutton?
