So I just ordered cherry microswitches and thought I would put them into my JLW. JLW micro’s are levered. So I thought I would take out the levers in the JLW micro’s and put them into the cherry micro’s. The levers however don’t fit. How are people putting levered cherry micro’s into JLW’s?
You have to find that version of the Cherry Switch premade as a levered Switch.
They do exist, they are just hard to find.
i think the old happ ultimates had levered cherry switches, maybe look on ebay for old happ sticks as a start
Hey @Jayducky ,
What’s wrong with your current JLW switches?
Or is it nothing, and this is purely R&D.
The current JLW in my everyday fightstick was out of an old Tekken 1 cab, saw years of play, and the only parts that actually wore out were the plastic actuator & the spring. After replacing those the lever played like Tits! again.
@Falkentyne has a post about how to clean old switches too if that helps: How to check your Sanwa sticks for "Chatter" (Intermittent inputs)
P.S. If you ever find out what model those levered Cherry switches are, I’d be down to try some out too!
P.P.S. Perhaps Hayabusa or Seimitsu LS-40 or LS-56 or K-Stick Gersung or K-Stick Panasonic switches might work too.
Thanks guys! This was simply R&D as JLW feels great stock! I just bought my first JLW after all these years and I’m in love with it! I wonder how levered OMRON D2RV-LG Microswitch’s would work with JLW?

Tech from France… p.s. he didn’t find the levered cherries.
I’m planning on ordering some from this place to use on a Ms. Pacman reunion stick.

Just what I need! Thanks Kubebot!
Actually, you can mod your Cherry switches to fit the JLW levers into. The problem with Cherry lever holes is they’re not deep enough for the little lever nubs to fit into, mainly because Cherry sells external levers that snap on the cases instead of going inside them. You can fix this yourself by getting the smallest drill bit you can find (Dremel has some really tiny ones) and drilling through the case to allow the nubs on the levers to fit into the holes. Or you can try to deepen the holes a little bit using a needle to cut away at the plastic.
If this guys is really a “tech”, then I’m the pope :
-he claims Cherry microswitches are shit and should be “avoided at all costs” . Speaks volumes.
-he claims JLW levered switches give optimal results if the levers are bent by hand until they contact the actuator. As if “by hand” you could get consistent results. Gee wiz, levered microswitches are not plain old 1st generation copper leaf switches…
