The threads should be seperate since there are two different core crews donuts and starbase though they do meat at the same two locations. A lot of people have put time and effort into helping starbase grow. I created this thread for starbase so i could use it to announce tournaments when and if i get them started. We’ve done alot of practice tournaments with vdon running them and harrison doing the streaming. The thread has grown a lot from just 4 people posting. Its stuff like this that makes me wonder why did i even bother when all im getting is grief and being insulted regulary
I don’t even know why there is even a need to have a vote. Is Starbase not worthy of having it’s own thread just like every other arcade in Norcal?
Another one of the reasons the Starbase thread was started, was to promote the arcade and get folks inside supporting the business. It has done that and still continues to do so. Starbase is in dire need of business and any sort of attention/spotlight will help that.
Anything that will help my hometown arcade, of which I have been a customer of for twenty years, stay open as long as possible. Even if it’s as small ( to some) as having it’s own thread on SRK.
So Rival, I know you have the best intentions but I urge you to reconsider and just leave things the way they are. The North bay scene has grown alot over the last 1/1/2 years and as the saying goes “if it ain’t broke…” Thanks!
Keep the threads seperate. Just stop posting the same exact convo twice!
Sacramento did this same shit last year where they would literally copy paste their posts to two threads. Just keep Santa Rosa business in Santa Rosa and starbase business in starbase. Pick one or he other for general talk. People already know which thread things will be announced in for each respective location so it isn’t like “omg donuts this Saturday I need to post in starbase thread” etc.
We already know that you guys check both threads. So why double post?
THIS is why I wanted a thread like THIS one. General talk thread. I don’t care if it’s the Starbase thread, this thread, or whatever. Shit, make it a Galactic Donuts thread. Starbase seems to be the necca, with donuts right behind it. Seems like the Starbase thread is the only one that really cares about making itself known.
…So why not bunch it all up into the Starbase thread? Put some info for donuts in the OP. You guys are already a team; the rockin’ t-shirts proved that! Get busy!
I think either way Sonoma is gonna want their own thread for random house get togethers and casual gaming. One person even said that if that thread get’s closed they will just make a new one.
