i’ll sidebet any amount of money against popoblo. anybody down?
i can’t believe this recent wave of hating going on here. instead of “wow, this guy’s footsies are so good he can go toe to toe against the top tier with shotos on the ground”, it’s “all this guy does is random fireballs and rc kicks and random uppercuts”. dont you think anybody else has tried to roll through his fireballs on reaction? to bait his whiff funky kicks and punish? to outright counter his team?
yes, dan lost to ricky twice. yes, ricky’s vega beat dan up. guess what? dan beat every other vega player out there, and these vega players are way better than the ones posting on srk forums
What the hell are you guys talking about me for?
Oh well, I tried. You guys keep talking about what an asshole I am instead of talking about strategy (and the players that are going to be there like Dan) like the whole point of this thread was then.
Who cares what “kcxk” says, he can say whatever the fuck he wants and nobody is gonna do anything about it.
ps: ppb money match? 20 on dan.
Word niggas cant fuck with kang lol chinese connection. Making people cry
Evo seriously needs to have an SRK grudge tourney in the BYOC area. Prizes are a 70/30 split of bragging rights between 1st and 2nd place respectivly. Anyone who gets OCV’d at any point in the tourney is banned from SRK forever.
This is far better than any screening process IMHO .
Can’t nobody take my pride
can’t nobody hold me down
oh no i’ve got to keep on moving…
the amount of hate here is just ridiculous.
dan got 4th at last year’s evo.
the ONLY person he lost to is someone who places 1st in 99% of the US tournies.
say what you want about him, he’s better than you.
<. ruth>
Any random ass-fairies making incredulous statements like “he’s not that good” or “the guy is a RC mashing bum” put up or shut up. You were there at Evo with your jizz-stained joystick. Did you get top 4, hell did you get top 10? Okay then.
Respect is earned not granted.
EDIT: iKlEiTlH beat me to it.
yo kang join team hate. I sense the force in u my son
Last time I remember Shotos are also about gaurdbreaking for seriously punishment. Notice that you said, BLOCK all the CH setups, and BLOCK all the crossups the right way. I sure hope your stick doesn’t break soon from blocking. Is block your favorite move? How many games have you won from blocking?
Shotos shine when they got plenty of speed and plenty of hits (landed or blocked) on you. Thats why they are somewhat good K groove and N groove.
I don’t think you should try to block the cross-up kicks from the shotos. If the shoto player is using it unguaranteed on you, then anti-air him. If he’s using it meaty, then Blanka electric ball or LP+LK roll the heck out of there. Why give the shoto player free momentum? Block or get hit, he’s going to get to do stuff on you if you do nothing other than try to block. Plus I’ve tried to block the shoto meaty j.MK’s in training mode before and it’s really hard. The ones that you need to block from the front, you can jump away from, but try to jump away from one that needs to be blocked from the back and you’re going to get messed up. Anything other than a wake-up Blanka super is too hard to counter the j.MK with because your directional inputs get all screwed up and you have to guess. Mash on that roll Dan style I say.
Don’t mash however, on the jab button against throw attempts and don’t try to tech throw either. Combo the throws with your fastest hitting combos (like Iori d.LK, d.LK xx Iori punch) instead. If you get counter hit, then screw it. Keep right on playing and block next time instead. You get the most reward for your decision by comboing the throw attempts instead of just trying to avoid them.
Players like Japanese are too good at punishing people for mashing on tech throw or something else random like that. Foot games is another story, but to beat them you need to step up your timing skills and counter hit execution until it’s even better than their’s are in my opinion.
I hope not a single person loses to Ryu again this year. I have confidence. Right or wrong, the stuff I posted is the stuff I noticed about Dan’s play style. Any other strengths/weaknesses noticed about him or any of the other Japanese players, I would love to read what others think as well.
Umm… I was making a sarcastic comment on how beating shoto players just require you to guess right on every single mixup.
Kcxj… you say roll away like meaty crossups don’t allow you to walk up against rollers and cr MK lvl 2 super anyways. Its not hard to do on reaction. Not to mention the random times you roll right into their jump. Yea its an option but its not going to get you out scott free… it just makes the Shoto player think a bit harder.
As for RC electric… you should be able to throw that… not saying its easily done, but you can throw it. Also good luck getting wake reversal RC electrics 100% against a Shoto player who has the momentum. Its not easy… more over… the risk is get comboed and dizzied.
Yea yea… no one should lose to Ryu in theory. In theory Sagat shouldn’t lose to Ken, neither should Blanka, or Sakura… but look at Choi. He makes people lose to Ken all the time. Is it because people don’t know how to play against Ken? Its a simple thing called being better than someone. Choi and Dan win with Shotos cuz they do alot of small things in footsies than 99.99% of the people here don’t understand. So uh breaking down Dan’s generic Shoto mixups on wakeup… aren’t going to change the fact that his footsies are what make his shotos… not the generic wakeup mixups.
How’s this… go back to the match of Dan vs Justin Wong on the Evo DVD. Ryu vs Chun Li… break down why Dan lands a st far FP into lvl3 super on Justin? Its not hit confirmable. Justin didn’t whiff anything. It was just in your terms… “Dan being a random scrub and doing random st FP Super.”
Yo, don’t tell me what I would and wouldn’t say. I’m offended by that. No kidding Dan and Choi are better players than a lot of other people too. I hope it’s unintentional, but the attitude of your post makes it sound like you’re saying I don’t know that or something. Hmm, Let me look at this…
Chun is cornered and wants to get out. Chun tries to walk forward and poke to make some breathing room, but get hit by an RC Hadouken. Ryu is at negative something. (Usually when Ryu hits you with a close fireball and your back is to the corner, you can s.MP him back) Chun tries to walk forward again and hit her s.MP right after taking the hit. Ryu anticipates and stuffs the s.MP attempt with counter far s.HP xx Level 3 Shinkuu. I think that’s a great guess and not scrubby at all. Ryu really read Chun’s intentions well. Plus, Dan had already beaten Justin’s first character and his Ryu was low on life --> Dan has meter to burn and blocked level 3 fireball super is safe against C-groove anyway.
Characters low on life and with full meter are always the most dangerous in my opinion. They figure they’re going to die anyway so, “what the hell… why not?” Dan made a good read and took the gamble. Wow, the follow up pressure is evil too. Justin had to use his reversal super to get out before he died.
edit: Justin tried to tech throw or something after blocking the cross-up j.LK at the end. Dan countered that clean with s.LP xx combo. Man, that sucks. I bet that was the moment Justin never mashed again. Since I don’t remember there being a single tech throw last time I watched him play.
i got $10 on dan over anyone on this thread (maybe not buktooth)
cvs2 forums are full of hatehatehate
how about we talk about my match vs bas at TS5 and me getting RAPED RAPED RAPED by bas’s a-sakura. i must have had a death wish picking k-groove against agroove.
i do it all the time
:xeye:
Kang hating on random japs is wayyyyyy to good
I thought we already did this in that other thread :P.
