Let's talk about money - The Finance Thread

gold has rallied hard this week, thanks to the global market turmoil going on. bonds have risen in value as well, which means their yields fell. just shows people are pulling money from the markets and going into gold and Treasuries.

hold you up niggas signing up for STM?

let me know so I can get the hook up from them and post a link here lol… no idea what they will pay me but any $ > no $ at all.

Man STM reminds me of that pyramid marketing scheme. Back when this stuff was coming out I could’ve been at the top of the pyramid :disappointed:

First off what is STM?

SECONDLY who has the best SECURED CREDIT CARD? TRYNA build credit this year so I need to start off small and then go big

Yeah. And I expect it to go even lower still.

Thankfully I turned of my payroll deduction for 401k and switched my 401k allocation to be 80% foreign stocks, after most of the emerging markets had already crashed (Brazil, China, Vietnam, etc.).

Whatever.

its not tho. all info there is legit. dudes rolling in millions kinda tell you how/why/if/when. if you KINDA understand how affiliate marketing works and willing to try then thats the place to be.

stm = stackthatmoney forums. I will get a link in case any random brave warriors around here decide to spend a month reading about life changing possibilities.

post screenshot…might be one of mine :looney:

My 401k was in the positive for 2015; not as high as I hope it would be but considering how roller-coastery-y the market was back in the fall, it did alright. My trading account on the other hand is freakin rekt beyond repair; remember kids…make sure you play with disposable income! I ain’t putting anymore money on mines this year especially with the recent chinese stock collapse.
The peer-to-peer lending account I opened doe is chugging along fine. I’m already receiving interest from the approved loans I’m part of. It’s not much for now but if compounded over many years, this ish is going to be a nice change to cash in. I even set it now so it automatically reinvest every $25.00. I wish I knew about this thing before I opened trading account; it’s truly for the lazy investors like myself  . To summarize how it works: your account ‘acts’ like a bank and u can either fund a client’s loan request directly or be part of a designated ‘pool’ depending on your risk tolerance/goals(each pool has different purpose i.e. aggressive, passive etc). A warning if anyone else wants to try it: it’s not FDIC-insured and its only for US citizens(at least for now). I’m digging it because the rate of return is higher at minimum than the inflation rate. I There are two leading companies out there: lendingtree and lendingclub. As usual, play at your own risk!

Anyways, predictions for this year? My opinion: the recent Chinese stock market shenanigan is only scratching the surface and the events that happened in the past two days will linger rest of the year. It won’t be a make-it-rain year, more like ‘pray-to-Gawwd-No-More-Bad-News’ year. Buckle up!

since the chinese slowdown talk started coming out last year and the industrial slow down…what in the world made you invest in mining stocks? 0_o

as for me my 401k was up like 1% , my trading account finished up 4%. i was in alot of the winners, Facebook, activision-blizzard, nike, home depot. home depot and activision blizzard were my biggest winners, so of course imma ride them again this year.

now that the fed is tightening, the markets cant depend on more QE to bail them out, so that huge run up in 2013 and 2014, that is what is causing this slow down now, stocks ran ahead too far of fundamentals and the valutation on alot of stocks are high, hence how 2015 ended flat(well oil did alot of damage too) . it all depends on oil, chinese stock market hoop la is all short term panic, in the end, their market doesnt matter, just how well our companies are doing over there and if oil can rebound and if the dollar can stop getting stronger, cause thats killing revenue growth for our companies in the usa.

How about that Powerball jackpot @ over $800,000,000

Sounds like a fool proof investment.

Just read an article yesterday that cited the fact not only are you more likely to die by drowning or be struck by lightening than you are to win Powerball, you are more likely to be struck by lightening while you are drowning than you are to win Powerball.

I only play the lottery when it is an office pool, and even then only as a suicide prevention method in case those fuckers actually win.

Now at $900,000,000

I hope nobody wins tonight so I can see it go to $1,000,000,000

Am spending more and more on online gambling, sports to be precise. Anybody got any tips? Although betting small and generally towards favourites am starting to make a decent amount of cash.

@crucades Where do you gamble at? I’m interested in seeing if it is possible to use my currently known math to predict real world results.

Whenever I do sign up I’ll shoot you a PM.

I use these 2 atm. They have really good apps for mobile.

Thanks dude. I was just looking for links from somebody that played. I was all over the internet like “I don’t know you niggas”. Sounds like fun at the very least. I’ll just put aside 20 bucks off my next check just to play around with.

I mostly use Paddy power, you get all the US sports as well. I mostly bet football and UFC atm, did some American football and basketball stuff and got raped. Gonna branch out my interests in other sports, ie, gonna be looking for people in the know to give some solid tips. My bro is football mad so I get some good action from that.

My wish has come true!!! Wednesday’s drawing will be well over $1,300,000,000

yup. Gonna be out there again Weds putting in that cash. Thankfully, this month is kinda quiet as far as me spending cash, so I can at least get away with it this time. Good luck to all my SRK bros who are going in on it.
