Let's talk about money - The Finance Thread

This year, I plan on taking care of a lot of the smaller debts I owe, and hopefully ending the year with my car notes and student loans as the main sources of debt.

As someone who has been a hiring manager, I have just one major thing I wanted to add to that article:

I hate overly long resumes and in general, I don’t like resumes that are more than two pages long. Especially as a new grad, there is probably nothing that you have done that justifies that long of a resume.

This is game changing information right here. My resume is basic and trash when measured against this. Thank you very much for sharing

Why don’t you try to take a loan to buy a car, I mean, yes you won’t be able to buy a new one, but you will not have to pay a lot debt back. So to say I took nearly 4k$ to buy an old chevy, it was pretty good, but I did not have to pay a lot of money instead. In other words, if you are looking for a car loan you better consult these guys https://credit-10.com/mx/ferratum-prestamos/ I think you will find some good offers and you will be able to save some money of yours

Remember when I posted about betting against the markets a while back…

Hope some people took my advice and bought a bunch of shares of VIX when I mentioned it; when it was only at like $16 per share.

Now look at the price per share of VIX. It’s over $60 per share!!!

Oh, btw, I didn’t take my own advice! What a moron, right lol!

Buying stocks are the one area of life I have really not dived into. As far as trading goes are there any suggestions?

@jion_wansu you mentioned gold being down, did you notice that platinum is lower than gold? and your thoughts on paladium? that’s down too. i know they’ve been using that in cars for catalitic converters i believe. gonna buy a tiny bit of silver because i’m just learning.

Yup. That;s one of the reasons why they cost so damn much.

makes sense. i have a friend who just got some platinum to hang on to for a bit and see where things go. wish i could dip into a bit of paladium. lol

I do wonder about investing in raw materials for batteries.

interesting. i don’t know enough yet. another thing i was looking at is people shorting stocks, but it looks really risky, so not something i’m prepared to do.

I’d look at battery manufactures and stay away from the raw materials.

Lots of those substances are common enough that countries can’t make any money mining them, and all it takes is one new country joining in for the bottom to fall out of the commodity price.

Money is fake. It’s just a game. Trump was right back in the day when he said, “…money if just a scorecard…”

When shit hits the fan, print more money and inflate Wall Street!

It’s just like the game of Monopoly. In the rules it states that if the bank/banker runs out of money, just create more money!!!

(sarcasm)

In the end if this keeps happening then the almighty Dollar will be worth less than Pesos!!!

Circuit breaker triggered again as futures are sinking. By next week I can see DOW 17,000 again!!!

Stock futures drop — hit ‘limit down’ — even as Fed slashes rates; Dow futures off 1,000 points

Anybody know of good REIT learning resources? I want to learn how they work and figured I’d srk if they knew of any good books or sites as a jumping off point.
