The sticks are a little iffy on the 3s machine, but I was still able to do my usual stuff on them. It’s the only place I can play people in 3s, so I won’t complain.
The mvc2 sticks are great, since no plays that game except on thursdays.
Regardless, thanks to UW I can play on any sticks no matter how fucked up they are.

Zach there’s this dude, named tepid on the TZ boards and I guess he works at GW. His name is like Matt, I think he’s the same dude that fixed the cabinet earlier. But yeah they really need new/good games. I can try directing him to this thread and see what he can do?? What I think he’ll probably end up doin is giving us a link to GW’s suggestion box to have us blow it up. I hate CvS2, but they need that there, and maybe another Marvel I guess.

It turns out, there is only one guy that has the final say in what games get put out. They do have an alpha 3 cab, but since the “games master” doesn’t think it is necessary then it won’t be put out. Or else, that alpha cab would have been out there a long time ago.
We would need to grab the attention of the management to get what we want.

Now you guys are gettin it. True Gameworks does have Alpha 3, but it isn’t the cab they have its the game cartridge. The thing is they don’t have an extra board to put Alpha into.
Ok, so if you guys wanna support the scene, come out to Gameworks whenever you can, not only on Thursdays. I’m tellin ya, Jason (Oro) or Justin (Akuma) are there on a nightly basis. Not to mention a few other guys that come out randomly from time to time (Zeero a Urien player) as well.
PLUS the big bald tech dude (His name is Nate by the way) works there a lot of the time and isn’t stingy about giving out credits if you wanna play him. Might I add that 3rd Strike is his baby, and he’ll do everything in his power to make sure its running smoothly.
But don’t be a moocher about it and expect to play for free all the time tho. Show your support and buy a card every other month or sumthin.
Matt, is the technician that plays Tekken 5. Same deal with him, if hes working and you want competition he’ll usually oblige you. Even better, bring you PSPs if you got em an he’ll play you DR. OOooooOOOoooo.
ALSO, if we could get some sort of petition together showing our support and present it to the proper people at Gameworks then I think we’d stand a better chance of accomplishing something. But don’t ask for the world right off the bat, cause it ain’t gonna happen. Instead we should just make them aware of all the money they’re (GW) missing out on and show them that there is a scene worth investing into.
Listen, you guys are doin great but enough with the talk, if the scene is gonna come back and if its gonna come through Gameworks then action has gotta be taken. Show your support by coming out more often!

What kind of board do they need? I assume you mean they need an CPS2 A-board? Those are pretty cheap/easy to get.
Dvasz, thing is it would take a shit load of people to start showing up for GW to notice anything. I’m sure you guys have the credits logged that would demonstrate this.
The only thing that I find annoying is that bigger more expensive games get updated while us, the street fighters, get stuck with only two cabs. That new ddr machine cost big money for sure, yet there is no love for us.
If I had any feelings, they would be hurt.
Also, anyone notice that black guy talking mad shit when Evan and I were playing? I would have beaten his ass into submission, but I don’t want to get banned from GW nor do I want to get jumped by 20 of his homies. :arazz:
Yeah, somebody talking 3s smack really annoyed some people. Who was that? I wasn’t there then.
I think the Marvel smack talk is hilarious - I think everybody’s all friends. (?) Don’t take it badly, and make sure you speak up if it does bother you.
One current problem is that there’s 8-10 people in line for the games, so it’s hard for GameWorks to actually notice the extra players, vs other nights when it’s just me vs Pablo for the night. Same net number of credits, really. If there were another playable game up there (and I pity Kyle and the other people who were playing SvC), they’d have a way to get that much more play. It’s be awesome to get stats on what games get played the most, and what they might be willing to replace/do. I’d be willing to try to help out with them replacing boards, but they’re also a corporation and can probably actually do that themselves if they realize there’s a fanbase that makes that an intelligent choice. If I go on Thursday, I get 5 matches in if it’s crowded. If I go another night, I usually scare away the only other guy playing after a match. :sad:

The guy talking shit wasn’t any of the peeps here that I know plays marvel. It was just some random guy that I had never seen before and wasn’t part of “the group” so to speak.
Also I think they need to do that 3 credit per swipe thing like they have for 3s.

So with what you said, is a petition the right way to go about this?? In my experience, petitions haven’t done anything, but I’m willing to give it a shot assuming everyone else is. The dude talkin shit was funny, he said somethin to the extent of “I only play this every once in a while, I don’t play this shit everyday like ya’ll do!” He also said, “no wonder the shit gets broken cause ya’ll be mashin when the game ain’t playin, shit’s probably broken once a week!” He’s nothin to worry about simply because if the game wasn’t so serious to him, he wouldn’t be whining by the cabinet about how cheap we are. This nigga complainin when I didn’t complain about shit when the jab was goin off and he beat me. It was all good when someone couldn’t perform properly. It was funny how people hella ignored him.
