MAN. I’m TOTALLY sticking to 3s tonight. Played some Marvel and I kept losing to turtling teir-whores. Sent/Cable/ Doom,CapCom, Blackheart.
I effing hate how all fighters boil down to turtling at highlevel play.
…wait, GG doesn’t seem to. Can’t find ANY comp in that though.
Oh lord, how I used to hate fighting Sentinel/Cable/Blackheart. I think out of all teams during the history of Marvel, that that team was the team I was most scared of. Two different trap variations, and it took me a longtime to figure out how to get out of them, and then they had Cable just in case Sentinel died. Pre rushdown Marvel was ugly but still fun.

I find it’s easiest to deal with turtles in Marvel. There at least there’s a bunch of other dynamics going on, so I’m not stuck just playing footsies all day long. I’d rather have the blocking exhibition against a crazed MSP than to wait twenty seconds between hits. 
I’ll be taping this show for friends until probably just after 9, but will be by after that. I promise not to play Blackheart. Hell, I may even play my weak MSP.
Truth. The thing about Marvel is, you have a much wider range of motion, and more space to control. Therefore, fighting a turtle allows you to be somewhat creative, as you’ve got more options (and your options between characters vary greatly. See rushdown with Sent as opposed to Mags) than in, say, CvS2.
Of course, Marvel also requires waaaaay more practice and experimentation before you figure out what’s right, which is a direct result of all the options at hand. Trust me, if you run into Capcom about a thousand times, you’ll eventually figure out how to avoid it. :tup:

Turtles are fun to play against! Besides, turtle play is all about mind games. Quite fun, IMO. There’s no particular way to play against a turtle (in 3s, especially), you just have to out-think your opponent. Just watch JWong. Strategy and mind games. Unfortunately, I have none of the former 
I’d like to thank Chris for waiting for me to beat Hammer Guy in Samurai Showdown. Hammer Guy is cheap! One hit and he recovers 100% of his life. Weak. Luckily Mina is even cheaper. Jump Fierce Arrow FTW.
Kyle wants that Best All Around Gamer title back from Mandel and so had win streaks on Showdown AND SvC:Crapos. Kyle’s magic.
GG’s to every one I played today. Even though I was massivly out of practice in 3S, I still had a lot of fun. It was good seeing Preppy, Mandel, Rat and the usual marvel and 3s people. Had a blast and was happy no one forgot about me. xD
I hate to say this, but there were too many people there! The Marvel rotation was ridiculous. Damn! Anyway I had fun =]. They just need another Marvel, and CvS2, and maybe Super Turbo, and GW would be GGRRRRRRRRRREAT!
I would like to thank everyone for coming out tonight. I enjoyed getting destroyed in marvel. Regardless, I showed heart and that’s what matters. Hopefully I can still make it out when school starts back up again.

Also thanks to everyone for repeatedly making my friends feel welcome and at home. Mikey really loved every one who was there for marvel and he enjoyed seeing me lose at 3S. Lol. But he loved the atmosphere and the people and wants to come back regularly. So, thanks for making all my friends feel so welcome to the scene. I appreciate it. ^^;

Wait, CvS2 matches actually happened at Game Trax yesterday? How did I miss that? At least everything seemed to work on that machine.
Gameworks needs to deal with the 3S cabinet. I hate losing to bullshit Oro and Akuma after thrashing them for most of the match, because I can’t find a fuckin’ diagonal to do low block, FDF K or supers. No offense intended, Jason and Justin have their shit down, just fix the machine!
I went again on Friday and pointed it out to the staff. Even the manager guy that plays was saying it was messed up, and asked to have someone look at it. Hopefully they get around to it.

Oh, I didn’t mean it to sound that way. I just get bitchy, cause I walked into the scene and it’s dead. I’m pretty knew to fighting games in general, so it’s hard to learn when there’s no comp.

I do sometimes but I’ll play anyone. I practice every character regularly. I don’t even really play other games right now. Makoto’s my main though.
We’ve all said it before too, and not to be an ass either, but 0’s on the money. That guy smells, it’s ok though cuz it fucks jason up so bad I can actually take him.
