This is a very large problem that I think people are overseeing. If Gameworks doesn’t get a 2nd board, I am 90% sure that I won’t be going even to test out shit against the computer.
Just imagine thursday nights where people here come to get some competitive edge on…and then they realize that they have to wait in line merely to play the computer.
This’ll be interesting. Thanks for the info Josh! Keep us posted guys!
yo! well i talked to one of the techs and they do have 2 boards coming in. they planned on getting 2 setups one with each board, but i told them that wouldnt work (with confirmation by mandel). so no more VF5 hahahah damn thos cabs are hella low. im gonna go in on monday morning if i dont have to work my second job to help them et it up. you guys want the buttons like jab and short lower than the others like they are for sanwa/hori home sticks? or straight across?
and what about the sticks? 8way? p360s? lollipop/jp onry sticks? ill give my input based on what you guys prefer ^_^y i’d be hella salty if i had to wait to play cpu lol
That VF5 cab should work as is. Japanese sticks and the japanese layout should work fine. I think it has button plugs that you can remove and simply pop in the remaining buttons.
Haha. That was hella long ago, but yeah, I did do that. They said it was just for the day, since I apologized/admitted I did it when they couldn’t even know and made it clear that I knew I messed up. Either way, not really a big loss.
had a few drinks with a tech last night, and if i dont work monday morning (if they havent set it up by then) i will be there helping out. the screens are honestly hella bomb looking. its just the cabs are low to the ground, so standing is not an option. ill be bringing a seat cushion hahaha. now i asked about prices, and VF5 is set to 4 credits (1$) so i hope it keeps that way. but knowing them it might be up to 1.50 ;/ its all about how much home office says they should be priced. and i know that theyre gonna make sure those cabs stay up to date and maintained since theyre fucking expensive and people will constantly be playing on them. oh god the mass of scrubs flocking to gameworks only to fuck up the sticks trying to jump attack will be rediculous.
Ok, first off yes it’s true we have all the kits and gear for two (2) Taito motherboards.
Second. No, we’re not going to be drilling new holes in the consoles to “center” the stick set ups (so whoever suggested that I had to do that can kiss my ass).
The game will MAYBE be up monday because the senior VP of SEGA will be personally be coming to Seattle to set the thing up, so whatever the win streak settings and the like will be up to him.
As in terms of price I haven’t heard about it yet but Orochi was pretty close when he said it’ll be between $1-$1.50.
For all other info I’ll update as soon as I get it. I’d also like to thank everybody that took time to e-mail home office, that was one of the reasons we were able to get the pull we needed to get the game here. Now how about we try for that CVS2 cab
From what I hear Taka ( the big cheese) will be in town either tomorrow night or monday morning to set the whole thing up and since he’s the guy in charge of…well, everything I thought I’d start a poll or something to see what type of sticks and buttons you’d like. I’m not going to guarantee anything but it would be cool if I could get a happy medium for all the fans of the game and I think it’ll be more fun in the long run that way. Well, lets hear it fellas.
we’re on the same page, i think on the last page, i asked what butting/stick preference people wanted. seems like the default on the VF5 is what people prefer (jap sticks and curved buttons). im so pumped^_^ and drunk
I’ll adjust to pretty much anything. Button Layouts only bug me for a few rounds. I do like a little distance between the buttons and stick however. I don’t like my thumbs rubbing together.
