anyways, i got 3 random calls from my gf (who works at gameworks). apparently, there’s a visit from a regional manager or some shit and she asked me “what was that game where you use yamazaki, ken, haomaru? was that svc?”
i said, “that game is trash and you cant pick 3 characters. its CVS2. why?”
she said,“oh, im making a list of games people want to give to the region manager.”
“oh crap ok, just make sure you got SF4 and tekken on there. and its CVS 2, not 1” then she hung up.
then i get another call and she asked what the newest samurai showdown was. and i told her it was edge of destiny or sam sho spirits sen. randiom that sam sho even came up. but its not a for sure thing, but its worth a shot to get the word out. god knows she hears about me bitching about SF4 and how i cant make it to tacoma and i know she hates me showing her all the videos off of youtube hahah. if gameworks ever got sf4, id probably quit smoking cuz 4 minute break to smoke could equip atlest one match in sf4. and id rather do that
Tell your gf about KOF 12 too! That needs to be there! Do we really need CvS2 there? Its…fucking old. What about SF4/Tekken 6 BR/VF5 R/SamSho EOD/KOF 12??? I hesitate to put KOF 98 UM there as people would say stuff like “its an old game” and ect even though the game itself came out this year, but is a FANTASTIC upgrade to KOF 98, which is old
before she even called me she already wrote down sf4 and tekken6. im texting her now to get KOF12 on the list. they got VF5, but that cab cost so much, i dunno if theyll upgrade. (they didnt even get tekken 5.1, and it was free)
awesome. fyi the KOF 98 UM board SHOULD be less than $2000, the price it was when it originally was released since its on Taito Type X
Add Tatsunoko VS Capcom to the list of games Gameworks needs, its release is December 2008.

That’s funny abou samsho eod. I mentioned that along with sf4 and t6 in my email a while ago and plugged the Seattle fighter scene alittle, at least historically. Also put a good word in for the new tech who I guess replaced matt - propped matt to, didn’t know at the time he had bounced.

Just an FYI…got back from a wedding in Walla Walla Washington, and despite the epic town name, that place is fucking creepy. Saw a bar fight over a heinous girl. Got shitfaced and passed out on the hotel bed. Woke up the next morning and found my glasses under the pillow (!).

Bomb. I was wondering what might happen if we emailed a polite email to GW HQ with Dan’s post about his expeirence attached and said that this is basically how the community feels, but I figured it would just get you in trouble (ie. They would lay the blame you.)
ok, so i guess this could qualify as good news. i was into gameworks today and was talking to a few of the managers about my experience last night at narrows. i broke down the math of how much money is being spent on just SF4 out there (primetime 6pm-12am 3min/match $1.00/game = $20/hour @$120/night at the minimum) and i told them that basically the game would pay for itself in about 4-5 months easily. and them being a corporation, they saw the dollar signs and wanted to push it. not there are all managers who want SF4 for buisness. also if you factor we will be buying drinks (non-alcoholic included) and possible thier food, theyre making good money. they probably would charge $1.25/game, but .25 is worth it to save a trip out to tacoma. when i was done talking, one of the managers actually said “we should get 4 of these things” that would be super dope. now, last week a region dude came in and lists were turned in with SF4 on the top. one of the techs told me he’s pretty much gonna be banging on the doors til they get that game. now let’s not get all our hopes up. this is good progress now that they know its a money maker, but the longer they wait to get it, the sooner it gets to being released on console. i wanna ask, will people still come out to gameworks to play SF4 and pay, or will it be straight up all at home with friends playing for free? i’d like to hope that there will still be an arcade scene of some sort, instead of random scrubs who let go of the stick when they throw fireballs…
I could see it being like Marvel on Thursday nights, or at least how it used to be anyway. The arcade brings a social atmosphere you just don’t get with people coming over to play at home (or playing online). I would go on Thursday nights there assuming the sticks aren’t crazy busted or anything.

I too would go down to play SF4 at gameworks on thursday nights even if it’s released on console. I like playing in a social setting a lot more then at home online. But yeah, its’ a hell of a lot closer to narrows, so I’d be all over it
