This Tournament was first posted on September 28, 2008. Let’s Play Arcade hopes this does not conflict with any other tournament scheduled before the date mentioned above…

Mu V Man (Ray)
Owner Let’s Play Arcade

well for sure ill be there.

Ray, you might wanna post up what time registration begins/ends, and what time tourney starts.

Also, the games will be run one after another, instead of at the same time?
What are the store hours?

i’ll be there

R/C, I’ll post it later today. It will be something like this.

All games will be Double Elimination.

Preliminary games will be best 2/3 Winners Bracket, 1 game Losers Bracket.

Semifinal games will be best 3/5 Winners Bracket.

Finals will be best 4/7, Winner of Losers Bracket must beat Winner of Winners Bracket Twice.

Game will be run one after the other in this order,

  1. Capcom vs SNK 2
  2. Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike
  3. Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo
  4. Marvel vs Capcom 2

Registration begins at 12 Noon for all games
Registration for each game will end 15 minutes before the first match begins.
Late Registration: Automaticaly put in Losers Bracket or $20 Registration Fee
Each participant has 5 minutes after being called to show up for their match, after 5 minutes you lose the match period no exceptions.

Store Hours:
Let’s Play is open from 10:00 am-9:00 pm. I can stay open to 10:30-11:00pm if tournment is still in progress. All participants and guests must be inside the gate by 9:00 pm or you will not be allowed back in and you will forfeit the rest of your matches no exceptions.

We do allow drinks inside the Arcade but no food is allowed period. That includes Ice Cream, Chips, and any other edible things that go into your mouth.

Mu V Man:cybot:

So it’s gonna be 10$ to register and then another 10$ to join whatever games you’re going to join, is that right?

For example, if I was going to enter one game it would cost me a total of 20$.

Just making sure. I’m down for sure though.

R l C knows his shit, he was taught by the best. (me)

fee’s

let me explain the fee’s.

There is a 1 time $10 Registration Fee which goes to Let’s Play Arcade.

There is a $10 Entry Fee per game you want to join, 70% for 1st, 20% 2nd, 10% 3rd.

If you enter 2 games it is $20.
If you enter all 4 games it is $50.

Let’s Play Arcade is putting up $2.50 out of the $10 Registration Fee, for every entry into the MVC2 tournament to go to the 1st place winner.
So with 10 entries into MVC2 the winner will get $95 ($100*70% + $25).
20=$190, 30=$285, 40=$390 and so on. MVC2 ONLY The other games 1st place will be smaller.

Tournament matches will be on Freeplay

Does this help any? If not ask me.

Mu V Man:cybot:

Im there Ray

ok ok. wait. so its a $10 reg. fee and the games wont be on free play until the start of the tourney or will all the games be on free play?

If your charging $10 and there will be no free play before and after the tournament than count me out:arazz:. ill go for casuals at luiz place and to chill out with you guys but if what i just said is the case then bsl and have fun:wink:

i mean the point of the reg. fee is to cover the cost of business it is taking away from an every day stand point. i doubt these machines brings more than $25 a day each. so much for keeping the arcade scene alive.

just my .02c

Freeplay

If it will make everyone Happy and get more of you to show up I will put the games on Freeplay once registration starts. But you will not be allowed to play them until you pay your entry fee. Fair enough? And if it is possible could you start letting me know if you are planning on coming so we can gauge the turnout.

Thanks

Mu V Man:cybot:

well for one thing i must say it sure seems fair enough.
well at least to me it does.

one thing that still kinda makes me wonder.
will it still be open to the public?
because if that’s the case you can count on a little bit of mass hysteria.
considering people go in and out as they please.

and above all else.
count me in ray

im totally down for this.
and ready to support el scene down here.

Open to the Public

Let’s Play Arcade is at a Sunrise Mall, which means I have to be open to the public during mall hours. We will post signs on all Tournament games that say “RESERVED FOR TOURNAMENT PLAYERS ONLY” and probably give out wristbands or nametags to identify players. I am only putting Tournament Games on FREEPLAY not every game in my Store.

Thanks
Mu V Man:cybot:

ya sounds good. wrist bands/tags cost money. i would say some sort of stamp thing will do good. ya thats what i wanted. just the tourney games on freeplay. fkn planet zero didnt put crap on freeplay numerous of times. gamers will be happy. honestly i am just going to own goose goose in mm.

my ?. does this mall have ho’s or what?:woot:

yes. lets do this

P.S., like I said in my post on the other thread, BROWNSVILLE is 100% down for this. Even our mallscrubs will be attending. =D

Happy

Hey Spin4U, now that I’ve made you:smile: please make me  and get a bunch of your gamer buddies and come play a real Arcade Tourny. The more who show the more dough.
Thanks
Mu V Man:cybot:

hey ray you should start each tourny after a certain time that way we can get all the games going and maybe hold the finals for each game after most the games are about done. It would be a great way to get everyone to watch the finals for each although i bet some ppl still would want to play.

Huh

WHAT!

Mu V Man:cybot:

Don’t worry about it, Burgers is just excited. lmao

I think he means to have a schedule for the games and not start them at the same time? I have no idea. o_O

:bluu:

ok here is an example:

start cvs2 have it run for and hour or 2 but just cvs2 that way when you start st ppl that were in the cvs2 tourny can be ready for st without having to go back n forth and conflicts wont happen.

jive had a pretty good method also hopefully he can put his 2 cents on this as well.

Games

If you look at my earlier post, the games are going to be run one after another not all at the same time. CVS2 will be first, 15 minutes after the championship match 3S will start and so on. The only games that may run at the same time as Original Tourny games will be the side games like GG Slash, UMK3, MSH. I hope this helps. Thanks for asking, please if you have any questions or concerns ask me. I would like this to run as smooth as possible, so we can do this again.
