sign me up for SF4, STHD, TVC, and 3S please

Castle Crashers!! Go!!

I’ll bring my DC for some 3s.

So 3s isn’t old?

fucking monthlies, I’ll see if i’m free, if I am, i’ll join SFVI and…that’s about it. FUCK SFHD.

I think it’s time for A3 to make a comeback.

For the 1000000000000000th time. And fail within a week again.

Put me down for SF4 and STHD

Yes, 15 dollars for a POWNZ membership and there’s a 10 dollar event fee for the whole day. The place does have to make a profit. They do not take anything from the tourney pots and give the directors free reign over how their tournies are run. The staff are friendly and asked me a few times how everything was, if there was anything they could do to help.

That’s actually definitely something I have to say…the staff was very good and I have to give them props for the help with changing up twenties and everything. Can’t believe I didn’t put that in the results post.

It came back for about 15 minutes before we gave up on it on Saturday…I do believe that may be a record.

I didn’t notice the lag for HD, but it felt like there was lag on TvC. Although I suck at the game and put only 1 hour of time into it I’m not the best source to say there was since it seemed like everybody there was doing combos for free.

They do have 4 xboxes setup in the backroom, if there are no tourneys, you can try running SFIV on all of them to speed things up, and have finals on the big LCD after or something.

Doubt this would be good for STHD since the game won’t be on all of the HDDs.

On Topic: sign me up for Alpha 3.

For the record, I won my match in A3…but scrubbed it out so hard cause i couldn’t remember how to do the damn VC.

I also felt like there was lag on TvC. But I adjusted after a few games.

I felt like I couldn’t push block during my first few games, and I was dropping some tight combos (which I hit later on in the night)

Yeah, how is 3S not an old game? I’m not gonna lie though, that game is still widely played.

As for the first A3 match, I was like, How come it’s taking them so long to kill each other and why is Dy-Ergile playing so defensively? Then I played my match with Nagata and I’m like OHHH that’s why. Six years of delay.

As for the alledged PS3 problems. K, I don’t know for sure but I’m guessing that people were setting there controllers in the main menu, THEN going into multiplayer mode. Before it let’s you into character select, there’s that screen that asks you to choose which side you want to play on. Those red box thingys. I’m guessing that people didn’t realise if you switch sides your control scheme that you previously set up won’t.

I shoulda realised that and I want to apologize to Jay Wang for that shifty first round were my Fierce was giving off a Roundhouse.

On to the lag issue, I don’t know for sure what it is but I can tell you that I’m positive there was some delay that day. Now I’ll admit that during tourneys I tense up like a garage door spring and my heart beats like a wood pecker doing some early morning infrastructure projects, but after the tourney during my set with Brett, I could soooo notice the delay. Mind you it was nowhere near as awful as the A3 time warp, but it was significant, especially when I could barely sonic boom all day.

On GGPO and 2DF I’m used to very little if no delay, so I can definitely tell the difference. Especially since I use a charge character like Guile, were timing his sonic boom to go off at the last possible second is crucial to his game.

When the initial suggestion was made to play on the PS3 to accomodate those who weren’t used to the X-box sticks, I was all for it as I can play on any stick really. However knowing what I know now, I suggest we go back to to the 360 for now or find some kind of non-lag converter. What bothers me right now is I’m pretty sure somebody had a PS3 stick that day and I was using it during a few my matches, so how the hell could there be any delay? I could be wrong, as my memory of that day is sketchy.

No lag.

I remember playing one match in casuals afterward where I had Ryu…usually the best way to tell if there’s lag is if I can’t dragon punch obvious jump-ins and I was having no trouble with it at all. So unless I was missing something, I didn’t notice any lag. I was also counter throwing throw attempts a lot too which should be hard to do if there’s lag.

Xbox360>PS3 still though. Yeah, I went there… ;o) Only because its the system I have and I hate the fact that everyone else seems to be on PS3 instead…

i wonder if the lag is from the tv, as TvC players also experienced lag. EVO runs SFHD on ps3 iirc, so it’s gotta stand for something.

Can’t things be set on the TV to fix the lag if there is? I’m no tech wiz or anything…just curious. Or was it something on the PS3/Xbox you can adjust? I know Rock Band 2 has something to fix lag at least.

If it’s the TV’s and it can’t be adjusted that will be a crippling blow. I don’t understand how the X-BOX 360 wouldn’t experience lag while the PS3 would though. On top of that, the Smash community (which is pretty large) at POWNZ has never complained about lag or input delay and they play on the LCD’s all the time. There’s got to be an X factor we’re missing.

Not the converter.

Mind lag.

Not all TVs have a “game mode” which will reduce input lag.

Few factors for lag is the cables being used (rca, component, hdmi) also the tv itself.

That and they’re playing brawl, so there’s no chance for them to see lag, if they were playing melee maybe they’d notice.

PS - I saw no lag at all on either TV.

I’ll be driving down to this one. I have 4 spaces available for anyone in Mississauga. I’ll be charging gas money (how much do people usually charge? $2? $3?).

  1. Hisham
  2. ???
  3. ???
  4. ???

If Teddy wants a spot i’ll give him priority, since he’s driven me down plenty of times.
