It’s not really blessed, just prepared in a certain way and follows a certain set of rules. There are comparisons to Kosher.
For those that don’t know:

No pork.
Can’t be a carcass of something already dead. Must be freshly killed before preparation.

Animal must be slaughtered in the name of Allah. (only ‘blessing’ required) Considered ‘devine’ afterwards
no alcohol or drugs/intoxicants.

Some of the carts in NYC are really friggin good - but I hate white sauce. Cannot stand the stuff.
Also I feel it’s my responsibility to say that halal pertains to the way the meat was killed. I run into so many people who think halal just means a falafel, lamb or chicken and rice.
