THIS WEEKEND! 3S on jap H2H cab!!

I do envy you guys going to evo this year. Im already planning on squirreling away money so I can go next year. Figure only live once gotta see evo. Gotta level up my cody though. Been slowly figuring it all out. So very slowly.
Looks like next sat will be a full car load. If you want you can send me a PM here if youre still out a phone Josh

It is a blast and even if you are two and out it is still a blast. Your playing in the room with the biggest names in all of the game. Refy had a long ass convo last your with seth k…seriously. FYI seth k was not at all happy how sf4 turned out lol.

It was Dave Sirlin, Dakkon. Seth Killian loves SF4. But yeah. We would love to have more people come out with us. It would be so great to have a whole group of us go out to represent LV at the biggest fighting game event of the year

I would like to start by dropping the previous conversations and trying to move forward from here. That being said I would like to commend you for trying to get something going and I am always happy when people try and do that. However there is many things that need to be addressed here so the community may continue to grow from here on forward.

A. The timing. You clearly did not speak to anyone about it and when people called you on it you said well these are not the people you want anyway.

B. the people you want. You said you do not want pros or evo caliber people at your tourn… When you say things like that you are making the entire lehigh valley sound like a group of scrubs. You said you want the locals. Hosting it on a fridays at 2pm when the locals work is not going to attract anyone especially when a group of them are already traveling out of state. Also the local group right now is about 17-19 people TOPS, ask revy or phatal they can tell you the same.

C. the community. Revy, phatal , maverick and I have kept in close contact about the community and about trying to grow it as a whole, We want to bring new players in and foster a core group of strong players who in the end can as a group start tournaments, travel to bigger and bigger events and be better as a whole. You are trying to skip over the growing the community part and trying to go to the tournament part.

D. Equipment - This is minor but as a group I only know of 1 solid working xbox te stick and 1 working Se stick. If you plan as a group we have plenty of ps3s and lots and lots of ps3 te sticks. Sorry guys you havent sold me on your dual mods, never seen them work.

My best advice would be to cancel the tournament. When this area is ready for tourns it would probably be even smaller then 30-40 probably looking for turn outs of 16-20. Then it would be something like monthly events at nerv or the gaming section at the Allentown encounter when they get their gaming room open. Revy is in talks with them for awhile now.

oops sorry rev

fuck it dakkon you win. the tourneys off

I know I wasn’t a part of the previous discussions you two had but from what I heard, it got pretty heated. That being said, I have to say that Dakkon does have some good points. In your tournament thread, when someone made note that it was going to be on EVO weekend you said you didn’t want to attract pro players. I think that is counter-productive to what we want to accomplish as a local community. I think I can speak for most everyone involved in the regard that we should want pro-level players to come to our area to bring that higher level of competition to the table.

Also, this is still a fledgling community. We don’t even have a regular place to play yet. That is something that I am working on as Dakkon said already, but it’s going to take time. As far as I know, none of us are opposed to hosting tournaments in our area, but I think we need to build up our community first. Maybe after we establish a regular place to play and have a strong group of dedicated local players we can runs some local only tournaments of 16-20 players to cut our teeth on because, from what I am told, its tough run these things. Once we have some experience under our collective belts we can expand.

Please do not take this as a personal attack on you. Its not. I don’t want anybody to have beef with anyone else. Our community is too small and I don’t think it would survive if people stay salty. Also, these are just suggestions and concerns. If you still want to run your tournament, you are free to do so and you can count on me to support it by being there as long as I am not working. I just wish you would be open to the suggestions and concerns that Dakkon and I have brought up.

Actually eronios I won’t need that extra seat so if anyone else needs it or wanted to go it’s up for grabs. Sorry for the inconvenience.
