Im not gonna travel to play yo scrubby ass fa free. Thats the whole point of the money match kid, to pay off my travel ticket. And i reside in cali now until the end of the football season.
And as for vids to make me look great, i dont have any that make me look that way. Cuz my game play isnt “amazing” we dont really do flashy where i come from, we do LAME. lol So where some players see mk hands opportunities i see jump in fp hands for (damage and low possibility for fuckin up), run away and sit on a life lead…for some blankas that see jab~elec opportunities, i see ball for hit or chip (pending on character) and run away. You wont see me doin jibbo style shit in a match, cuz im not jibbo, you wont see me carbon copying yeb cuz i aint yeb, but you will see me break throws, time people out, and win matches against people that you wouldnt be able to touch
The play style is what wins and yea its shitty and boring, but look what game you are playing .
Gaying it out isn’t always a bad thing in some match ups. I do it against Honda all day unless he gets the life lead somehow.
But being able to punish for maximum damage is something that should always be done. Unless there’s something seriously risky about it. But that’s a part of what makes and breaks the bad from the good. People who have 100% execution, then people who have 50% execution but go for it anyway, fighting someone who likes to mash out SRK’s well he’s gonna eat it. But I personally don’t consider it flash until it’s wasted damage. Like 2 focus cancels into MK to hands. Damage scaling is just stupid at that point. However, even though it’s flash, that combo mind fucks people all the time. Sometimes I do it when I know it freaks the person out and makes them start to do stupid shit.
Various occasions I’ve done mk to hands to people for 26 ish hits. And they just get mind raped and hide in the corner for me to continue to maul them. If you don’t have 100% execution it’s smart in some situations to gay it out. Or if you’re just fighting Sagat, it’s almost always smarter to just do the safe thing. Even if their a scrub, all they need is one mistake for an srk into ultra for more than 50% of your life bar.
I’m still trying to personally decide if I feel 2 mk to hands focus cancels is worth it. My execution has gotten pretty high lately and so I hit it all the time. And the rate that gen gets meter back. I kind of feel like it’s not wasted, unless you’re gonna miss it somewhere. Just because of the mental damage the combo does. Thats the only reason I sometimes feel like its worth it.
yeb and jibbo are neck and neck but i give the edge to jibbo cuz yeb cant seem to be fast enough to realize that back dash isnt working take a look
About the viper vid, I know KKK c.hk is unsafe as hell but wouldn’t that have been better against the j.flame kicks Viper was using? Startup is 5 frames and you can delay it a second for the turnaround if she’s actually crossing you up.
I use the last rep if it will kill them, if I want to combo into PPP c.hk and sweep them (character-specific), or if I want to push them further towards the corner to apply some pressure there. Sometimes after pushing into the corner i’ll look for KKK cr.lk PPP Ultra (this works against everyone in the corner; works against some from mid-stage). Just don’t combo that Ultra after the second fadc or the scaling will pwn your damage.
I love how the shit talking starts and everyone forgets about my question I asked on page 3 about Ryu’s random hitbox affecting mk hands :crybaby: I’m still wondering if I need to stop going for mk hands loops against people like Honda and Ryu and start using the PPP s.mp, KKK cr.mp xx Roll combos more. If there’s a random element to their hitboxes I will. I hate wondering if I’m not on the ball when I miss or if there’s something else going on.
Thanks. That’s what I thought but I wanted to make sure there’s no whacky counter-hit or console-specific mechanic that messes with it. I rarely ever play on PS3 outside of tourneys and I still don’t look for counter-hits or pay attention when I get one.
I don’t really understand this viewpoint. I mean, I can be worse than someone whose video I’m critiquing and still know what they are doing wrong. It’s like coaches in sports, they are clearly not as good as their players but they have a vast knowledge of the game that allows them to understand what’s happening.
Of course, it’s a different story if you are talking shit or saying that you are better…
It’s not as “random” as a lot of commentators always say. The only time you shouldn’t follow up with another mk to hands is really if you just didn’t land it up in their face which is the same with a lot of people. It’s just like Yeb’s chart in the new matchup thread. Anyone with a “hard” mk to hands, you have to actually take a step forward for the next one to hit, so if you don’t land it right in their face you won’t be able to connect another. Or if you use an attack that pushes you back too far before the hands. Like if you start with s.hp > hands, you can’t follow up with anything(Depending on the character but not Ryu and various others.).
I’m curious how it would sound if Jibbo gave you constructive criticism. He should post his opinion on your 2 video’s posted. I mean if he can give Yeb constructive criticism, I don’t see what the problem with be with him giving you constructive criticism.
So now that we’ve established your social skills are pretty lacking :wgrin:, I’d like to add that your Gen is actually pretty solid. I can tell you’re thinking and interacting with your opponent in the matches you linked, which is obviously required moreso than most when playing the character that we play. I think overall you have a good understanding of the risks that you take and the reason why to do them, but don’t always have your opponent’s motive inside the decision making equation. This goes back to reading your opponent and that goes back to your opponent reading you, which in turn creates a more careful decision making situation.
Make your opponent think about the things he can’t react to and only anticipate. Having an option is sometimes more threatening than actually executing that option.
Example: At 30 seconds in this vid
Against Guile you did ex-oga on wake-up. If you would have stood there, I gaurentee he would have back dashed anyways, because he ANTICIPATED the wall dive. In this situation you could have probably even forward dashed and applied pressure.
Oh and shit, you missed a mk > hands fadc combo though. This means Yeb is better than you too! Sorry bro.
