And what is more specific discrimination trans people face? The one im most aware that seems more exclusive to them is alot of doctors or clinics will refuse service because they are a tranny. I am aware of gay people getting fired for being gay. But idk how they get turned down for jobs for being gay, I would assume they were a Perez Hilton type and they got rejected at the interview. And like I said I am a bit desensitized ro it because its not a major issue in my area. I have seen plenty of gay dudes out here working who had thw fruity demeanor and they seemed fine at their job.
As far as trans if the discrimination is the bosx or manager doing shit to troll or bug them then it is discrimination, if they are claiming discrimination because no one wants to be their friend in the office then they shouldn’t care as long as they have their job stability.
Last time I encountered a tranny in a public spot was at my college because he was trying to apply. No one did anything shady to him they just didn’t pay him anymind or avoided him.

New York City is one of the most progressive cities in the country and there are still attacks on gay people here. It was either this year or last year where a Hispanic guy shot a gay man in the head with no remorse, stayed for the cops, and owned up to it. He thought what he did was right.

The reason why the LGBT equality movement is sometimes compared to the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s is because a group of people were treated differently because they were different of the societal norm. In the 60s and prior, being white was normal and superior, while being black was different and inferior. It’s not that much different for the LGBT community today (being marginalized because they are different than “societal norms”), although it is true it is not as extreme conditions prior to the Civil Rights Movement. However, it doesn’t matter if black people were collectively treated worse back then than the LGBT community is being treated now; the fact remains is that a group of people are being treated as inferior and have less rights than “normal” people. That’s fucked up. And no, you can’t bring up “but you’re born black and you can choose to be a transexual, it’s different!”. Whether or not an individual can choose what gender they identify with is completely irrelevant because the end result is that they are discriminated against because they are different. That shouldn’t happen. Hell, there’s been incidents where transgender students can’t use the bathroom of the gender they identify with. Sound familiar?
And yes, the horrible shit that happens to the gay community in Nigeria is a great example of gays being treated like less than humans. It’s fucked up. Even in South Africa, often thought to be the “civilized” country in Africa, has issues with this, such as lesbians being raped by groups of men “to turn her straight”. The world is a fucked up place. Help make it less fucked up.
