I dont know how you can feel bad using Laura. If anything you should be proud of yourself, you’re working 10x as hard to stay in the game. They have absolutely no excuse for losing if they do using the top characters.
Personally I feel like work twice as hard when I’m winning with Chun than Laura.
Laura has so many options to open people up and wins come much easier. Come back potential is crazy.
Laura has earned a very special spot in my heart.

She has only many options to open people up who can’t block. Chun has a faster overhead (that you can combo from in VT) and instant air-legs to open people up, Laura relies on counter hits and grabs.
I dunno, if you’re having more success with Laura that’s probably just you feeling more comfortable with her gameplay and/or your opponents having no idea how to deal with her. Chun as a character is just way more complete and versatile.

Doesn’t look that bad actually. What’s interesting is that they actually changed the models a bit. She looks more muscular with her jersey costume than in her story outfit for some reason.
Yeahhhh I definitely don’t see how shes easier to use than Chun. While I do enjoy using Karin, it’s more difficult using her than Laura because my gameplay and style completely match Laura and I’ve studied her alot more than anyone. However it’s no denying that if you mastered both equally, Karin definitely has many more tools to utilize than Laura. Laura doesn’t have many ways to open people up, and anyone with a DP can shut down alot of those options.
Well, she’s easier to use than Chun but she’s harder to win with. As soon as I hit Level 50 with her I’m going to drop her for a while, it’s really exhausting fighting uphill match after uphill match. Might just be the 10 game losing streak speaking but I think I need some top-tier for a change.

IALegs isn’t as viable as people say it is though. Youtube videos are everywhere for Anti-Chun things, not so with Laura.
Chun’s overhead is only good in VT but it’s still easily blocked or jabbed
Laura’s abilities to capitalize on crush counters is higher as well.
Not saying Laura is better than Chun or vise versa.
I will say because I play both extensively; Laura is easier to use and because of her higher health, high damage and especially stun/comeback factor - it requires less effort to win.
Whether you agree or not is up to you.
Chun is still my best character and I’d confidently say my winning % is higher with Chun than it is with Laura.
But I can kick back and play Laura - Chun you better be on point, at least to play on the level I expect myself to play on.
My expectations for Laura isn’t as high.
Well, obviously if you mess up all your SBK combos with Chun she’s not going to be successful. Laura has simpler moves (no charge, no DP) and shorter, easier combos. Not going to contradict here. I just don’t see how it can be easier to win with her if you play her and Chun at the same level. Just too many bad matchups for that. Or to paraphrase it differently, Chun requires more dexterity to win while Laura takes more mental effort.
Also, anti-Laura tech: reversals. If you have to hold back after every mixup because the opponent could reversel she loses all her strengths.
I personally think Colors 1, 2, 4, 8, and 9 are better than 10

I think the dark jacket and red bra is a nice combination but I’ve come to like color 4 (yellow and white) as well. I just hope they fix the shadows on it, depending on the lighting/stage there are some weird triangles on her breasts along the lines of her bra. Looks really bad to be honest.

Same here. Between that and the still rampant rage quitting, I’ve been much happier just cruising battle lounge.
I have around 300 hrs in SFV and all I’ve been playing is battle lounge with friends. I’ve probably played like 40 ranked matches total lol. I just hate waiting around for a match to start when I could be playing already. Also, side note, what the hell do you do against Balrog in the corner? His pressure is insane and I can’t push any buttons. Is v reversal the only option?
I always V-Reversal my way out, like you mentioned. I’m sure we will find other openings as we get used to him but he is definitely a ken/mika level force once he’s got you cornered.
You get XP on casual matches, too. I stopped playing ranked when I got the Gold trophy.
