Yeah i knew about the sweep one.

I didn’t get to test whether you can react to quick rise and press MP and react to staying on the floor and do LP bolt for another meaty. Back roll will probably fuck both up though.

If sweep is +30 on back roll, avante is 21 frames, and st.HP 8 frames startup, it should absolutely hit, and sometimes it does. I’m absolutely sure that I got the frame advantage right because back roll is always 5f slower than quick rise and dash forward mp always work on quick rise, and even then I’ve counted the frames one by one. I also know that st.HP has at least 3 active frames because in V-trigger you can do cr.HP xx EX FB, st.MP xx avante, meaty st.HP that combos to st.LK.

So, I can only assume that back roll is broken.

edit: Thinking about it some more, there’s probably an invincibility frame on wake up. Sweep, dash, st.MP SHOULD be +6. After dashing you have 8 frames before they wake up so immediate st.MP becomes active 2 frames before they wake up, which means that it’ll hit on the third active frame. But for some reason it hits on the fourth and you can link cr.HP afterwards.

edit 2: No, fuck, that still doesn’t make sense. st.HP should become active on frame 29, 30 would be the invincible wake up frame and HP would still have an active frame on 31. Fuck this bullshit, man.

I don’t know why you guys test so much stuff now when the final build will be totally different.

Mostly because I’m super thirsty for some SFV. Also because more things will stay the same than change.

Well we don’t know how different it’s gonna be. They may say that day 1 will have a ton of changes, but with only 2 months left until the game is released, there’s not exactly a lot of time for them to make a bunch of drastic changes unless they want to risk the actual balancing process of, well, balancing, to feel rushed and sloppy.

That’s possible, maybe whiffing the command throw moves her pushbox way forward.

Still though that wouldn’t explain some of the things I’ve seen. For example I once did cr. LK x 2 on Rashid, who was guarding. The pushback would normally put you outside of generic throw range but Rashid was still able to connect a throw immediately afterward so idk. It could have been some weird rollback thing, but it happened way too smoothly for me to suspect that. So that’s why I think maybe throws have some weird property now. Maybe it’s just reversal throws? Like they have more range than normal throws?

This wake up business after sweep back roll is driving me up the fucking walls. Sweep becomes active on frame 30, but hits on frame 31, which means that it hits on its second active frame and is -7. st.HP becomes active on frame 29, doesn’t hit on frame 30 and doesn’t hit on frame 31, even though it has at least 3 active frames.

My recordings fucked me over. I lowered my resolution and could consistently get -6 on cr.HK. This absolutely means that sweep back roll has 2 invincibility frames. I also feel like a fucking idiot for wasting my time figuring this shit out fuck everything yolo

We already discussed the removal of that in the last capcom unity thread. It’s known already.

I think the 2f of invincibility is unique to that wake up, though. I didn’t test too many but I could only find ones with 1f. Those with 1f can work out in your favor, as well timed moves become meatier than they should. 2f is straight up insanity though

The one at 0:15 is very good imo. You delay the st.MP one frame. On quickrise it beats mashing jabs and on back roll it hits meaty enough to combo into cr.HP, but I forgot to show that. Also, in the setup at 0:10 I found an application for that recovery animation cancelling nonsense.

I would hope so! Here’s a better look at the sweep setup. I sub reversal jab with reversal LP dp to show that it beats frame perfect jab mash on quick rise, and you can see that it combos to cr.hp on back roll. You have to delay the st.MP one frame after avante, but if you’re a frame late it will still beat frame perfect jabs, and will still combo to cr.HP on back roll, but it will trade with the reversal LP dp. If people wake up with reversal LP dp they’re retarded, so it’s fine.

So I just started messing with laura (working to each character 1 by 1). She seems pretty good. Definitely scary getting a counter hit. S.mp is real good up close and linking a super is so easy. I just messing around with crush counters right now. s.hp xx lvl 2 charge fb, s.mp xx elbow -> follow up does good damage and stun. For dizzy combo I did lvl 3 lp fireball, j.mk cross up, s.hp, s.hp xx mp elbow with follow up. She definitely hurts.

Just remember that you’re stuck in VT in the infinite beta, and that probably doesn’t work without it .

Yeah, it’s weird. I think Gief does too but I haven’t played with him at all so I’m not sure. But you’ll notice that command grabs deal 220 stun, command dash goes super far with a lightning effect and fireballs have short charge time.
