With the changes to 5MK, you can now do 5MK , 5LP > LP Bolt
The 5MK , 5LP seems to be a really tight link, and 5LP > LP Bolt is as close as it always has been. It doesn’t do much damage, but it’s a good followup to fishing with 5MK, especially since LP bolt on hit sets you up for all sorts of stuff now that we have a 5f command throw.
I’ve been rocking that CH combo and loving it!
It’s far from one of the best buttons in the game but to finally have a decent poke that can convert into damage is like… Hallelujah! I think this is possibly her most important buff. She really needed it.
I’ll repost this from the other thread, but CH st. MK actually combos into overhead if hits meaty. The timing is pretty easy to get after a command grab KD.
In VT you can do st. MK xx VS, st. LP xx L Bolt
You can’t hit-confirm it though since the Overhead has to be cancelled from MK. It’s certainly god to know but I think going for cr.MP in that scenario is better since it allows you to process the CH.
It’s a great option with some very nasty damage, and you can get the same with a 5MK reset, however the only thing I don’t like about it is that it’ll leave you at -1 on block so you’ll lose your turn, so to speak. 5MP still works here as before and will have them at +6 on block so you still get to maintain some very serious pressure.
Yeah, cr. HP is harder to time and easier to stuff, but on the other hand it doesn’t even require the CH for the combo to work. Visually speaking it’s also easy to know if you hit it meaty because you crush them right on their toes.
Can you hit confirm Meaty CH stMK before cancelling into overhead?
Or something you just do and commit to?
you responded to this and he didn’t mean crMP into overhead
He meant going for CH stMK -> crMP instead of Meaty CH stMK -> Overhead
it’s the safer option because you have the large window to hit confirm
Oh yeah you’re right, but I was just searching for ways to combo into overhead.
CH st. MK is a little tight to confirm as Maryokutai noted, but cr. HP has a larger window and doesn’t actually require the CH to combo.
I just posted the finding because I got it by accident and someone else might be wanting to explore further on that.
