Don’t know if this has already been found yet, I’ve searched and found nothing and I can’t remember seeing it in here, so here it goes!

Basically off a standard Ex Thunder Clap, St.MK reset you can go for a crush counter HP, I’m fairly certain from my testing it beats jab. But off the St.MK reset it hits fairly meaty, allowing a crush counter HP to go into F+HP target combo. Huge damage and heavy stun! Won’t be the most used thing, but hey… it’s something!

Can someone explain to me how you can connect a cr.MP after St.HP…

so the combo is:

St.HP, Cr.MP xx Medium Elbow xx ender

You have to hit it meaty for the cr.mp to connect. Easiest way to do this is to do her Elbow -> punches and time your hp so it hits meaty.

EDIT: Keep in mind that it doesn’t work on all characters.

Today I learned the hard way that the typical DP punish CC combo doesn’t work on Necalli. You need to use Heavy Thunder Clap instead of Medium.

For Necalli, Laura and Rashid you have to use hp fireball. I don’t know about the others

Did a quick write-up on Vryu’s meaty setups from his week 1 vid for myself but I figured it might be handy for others to have as well? I didn’t put the CH stuff in there to keep it simple. Maybe we can compile more information and have @jchensor update his OP so we don’t have to dig for content?

Command throw normal wakeup
Mash st.HK whiff>st.MK>st.MP (MP hits meaty, combos into cr.MP)
LP bolt whiff>dash st.MP (MP hits meaty, combos into cr.MP)

Forward throw quickrise
f.HP>st.LK or st.LP>LP bolt

Forward throw normal wakeup
f.HP whiff>dash st.MP (mp hits meaty, combos into cr.MP or cr.HP)

Back throw quickrise
WAIT 1F>f.HP>cr.mp>MP bolt

MP bolt Punch ender quickrise(does not work on NE, ZA, LA, RA, CH)
st.HP>cr.MP>MP bolt

MP bolt Punch ender normal wakeup(does not work on NE, ZA, LA, RA, CH)
st.HP whiff>dash st.MP (mp hits meaty, combos into cr.MP or cr.HP)

MP bolt Kick ender(quickrise)

I could be wrong and I don’t have a chance to check because I’m at work, but I think you might have it backwards. I think you have to wait the 1F on backthrow. I’d actually went to f.HP after a backthrow yesterday against my friend and the f.HP completely whiffed because I did it too early.

Yes, it’s one frame off on back throw.

I didnt get much time to test it, but i was trying to get setups where the spin kick overhead could hit meaty enough to combo into something, i was partially consistent with doing crouching fierce xx ex thunder clap, then instead of juggling off of the thunder clap i would immediately wiff standing strong and then do the overhead kick, was able to combo into standing jab xx jab shoulder. Obviously not the best setup so far, but im trying!!!

Found some safe jumps after a crush counter sweep (tested against ryu’s mp shoryu, and ken’s EX shoryu)

[same side] vskill forward, whiff st lp, neutral jump hp
[other side, only if you hit at the tip] whiff st mk x 2, jump forward mk (loses to auto correct/late shoryus)

Can you punish Chun Li’s In-Air Hundred Kicks?

just do double forward dash neutral jump mk, easiest one lol

its like cammy, you have to react VERY QUICKLY but you can hit it out of the air with your qcf. HP

You can command dash under her air legs and punish that way.

so I guess there’s nothing you can do about it on block then eh.

I’m mostly getting pressured by it on wake up. Chun would walk up like she’s gonna throw me, and then jump and do the instant air hundred kicks.

pretty sure I don’t have the reactions to do qcf.HP and command dashes lol
