Yeah there’s Ibuki stuff down at the bottom too lol.
Guys are you sure that framedata is correct? In this video, , in the second combo alioune does st.fierce ~ cr.mp, and i have also read here that st. fierce to cr.mp combo, but the framedata says it is impossible, listing cr.mp at 5 frames of starting, while saying that st.fierce only give +4.It also seems to be wrong in some cases for other characters too.I’d take it with a grain of salt.
Managed to score an early copy. Anybody else out there can verify these for me?
Close standing Fierce punch apparently causes the person to stand up. I got ryu to stand up from a crouch a bunch of times.
So I got – Jump-in FP, close standind FP, cr. jab, short RJ – For 305 damage
But I noticed that the jump-in FP needs to be very deep so the close standing FP forces the stand. Otherwise if it’s not deep the standing FP will wiff
stupid double post
yes this combo has to hit deep and it’ll have an easier time to combo. for some reason it was hard to catch chun-li with it, so i had to use jump-in MK then close standing HP to combo her in a standing position. it’s probably easier to catch bigger characters with the jump-in HP into close standing HP. got an early copy too.
Basic Rising Jaguar combos
I didn’t see these mentioned, sorry if I dupe something already mentioned. First number is short Rising Jaguar without jump in. Second, third and fourth numbers are jump in + Rising Jaguar strength (short forward roundhouse). Some strengths whiff. Some you can only land first hit of RJ (forgot to note those). Tossing them out there.
s.jab, s.jab, c.short Rising Jag (doesn’t work with crossup j.forward) 127 with j.forward 245 193
s.jab, c.short, Rising Jag (this version will work with cross up j.forward) 174 with j.forward 238 245 252
s.jab, s.jab, s.short Rising Jag 97* with j.forward 197
*yes. Really is just 97. The difference one c.short makes.
s.jab, c.short, c.short Rising Jag 137 with j.forward 205
s.jab, s.strong, short Rising Jag 140 with j.forward 196
c.jab, c.short, c.strong short Rising Jag (should be known from the super combo on the OP…but yeah, you can get a RJ out of it also) 153 with j.forward 219
s.jab, c.short, c.strong short Rising Jag (a bit trickier for some reason…may be only in the corner) 153 With j.forward 219
s.strong short rj 200 With j.forward 259 267 275
s.forward short rj 205 with j.forward 264 272 280
c.strong short rj 110 with j.forward 185
c.forward short rj 200 with j.forward 259 267
s.fierce short rj 220 with j.forward 279 287 295
air Roundhouse Jag Kick, c.jab, Rising Jag*** 214 222 230
air Roundhouse Jag Kick, c.jab, c short, Short Rising Jag @@@ 233
@@@= Forward and Roundhouse Rising Jag seem to whiff even in corner
***=Air Roundhouse Jag Kick is the only one that ends close enough for c.jab to connect. The other versions seem to shove either the opponent or Adon too far off. Positioning in the air seems pretty specific as well. Mess with it. The positioning could make a nice jump in fake out.
Jag Tooth, c.jab Short Rising Jag 254 **
**= Roundhouse Jaguar Tooth version of this combo works anywhere. Forward Jaguar Tooth also works, but the proper spacing calls for being in a bad position in the corner (your back against corner, opponent within close footsie range). Short Jaguar Tooth creates too much space in between yourself and opponent for jab to reach. Damage is the same regardless of which tooth you hit.
**EDIT 04/26
**Neutral Jump Forward, Short Air Jag Kick, c.strong, short Rising Jag 248 #
Neutral Jump Forward, Short Air Jag Kick, c.jab, short Rising Jag 280 #
Neutral Jump Forward, Short Air Jag Kick, c.short, Rising Jag 288 295 302 #
Possibly something here, but can’t get Rising Jag out in time:
Neutral Jump Forward, Short Air Jag Kick, s.strong…Rising Jag? (timing between air jk and s.strong feels tight…guess we have to wait for frame data there).
#=Neutral Jump Forward needs to be performed on the way down for Air Jag Kick to connect.
P.S. all ground jab, short, forward and strongs will combo into Rising Jag (not sure about overhead though). Get to one of those four and you have a potential RJ. Didn’t try FADC’ing any of these into Ultra…hrmmm??? FYI…short RJ has the most reach, so I’d recommend always going for it in BnB situations (but that’s just me). Hence it being preferred in some of these cases where Adon’s spacing may be too far away from opponent. Fun!
Good stuff Sosage.
Has anyone found anything that Adon can link from his ground Jaguar Kick? I’m landing that in fights alot and I have no clue how to follow up. Same goes for Jaguar Tooth other than your opponent in the corner…I’m landing these and can’t seem to follow up. I know the one trial combo that follows up with cr.lp, cr.mp, rising jag, but are there any others (particularly easier ones)?
Also, what is so special about Adon’s overhead attack? It was billed as the most dangerous in the game, but I find it to be crap…its just way too slow. Am I missing something here or did the dev blogs just miss the mark on this one?
I think it went from being one of the best, to one of the shittiest. If I’m thinking straight, I saw a video of Adon performing his overhead in one of the early builds, when SSF4 was first being showed off. It was much faster then.
Now it’s very sloooooow. A player with decent reactions will fuck you up for using it.
Yeah, the rest of his game is clearly so powerful that a good overhead would have made him S tier. /sarcasm
Anyway, thanks for the explanation…the more I play Adon the more I think he’s near the bottom of the barrel in SSF4…
Maybe Seth Killian was thinking about Oki shenanigans, and forgot about random wakeup DPs, and the 9000 frame wide Reversal Timing Window. I liked to abuse his Overhead in A2, but eesh…
hey guys, was testing out adon… when i do a crsup forward, i can follow up with cr short, st. jab, st. short into light jaguar… its pretty siick… the more i use this guy… the more i realize how precise i need to be with his execution… as his links are pretty tight…
Tooth I could only land the c.jab related combos I listed. Like I mentioned, I could have swore s.short landed but I just can’t get it to connect.
So far, I get the impression ground jk is his worst special. I mean, it has uses. Mobility. Can knock some stuff out of the air. Slaps heavy projectile use when used right. Aside from all of that, unfortunately, it puts Adon in a bad situation even on hit. Versus grapplers it is the worst thing you can do, since it seems to be a free reversal 360 on hit (it definitely puts you in their money range).
I hope there is an easier/better follow up. Otherwise…it’s kinda “enh”.
hey i am having troublle doing his c.lk xx RJ without short cuts…is there a trick to getting the z motion from a crouching position?
I have to agree unfortunately. You have to be a master Adon to compete with decent Guys, Codys, the list goes on.
And it really annoys me how even the developers don’t know sh.t about this game.
They not only don’t know the names of the moves (they call RJ a "jaguar kick) and then say how Adon is easy to play, which is not true. The whole community understand how difficult he is and you need to perform all kinds of movements very rapidly and accurately. He’s also mentally difficult as again, even the developers agree that because of his limited move list you need to bait and lure you’re opponent into making mistakes.
I’ll continue playing Adon as a fun tier character because he just screams cool but not in any tourneys.
Also, the link on the previous page to Adon’s frame data doesn’t work for me. ?
hey man we played in a room together last night( i was kyo45) that fucking rose was insane
Not sure if it will be very useful, but in training mode with Adon backed in the corner or close to the corner, I was able to use ex jag. tooth to hit ryu out of a whiffed dp and juggle to U2. I’ll post a video later if I get a chance.
4 hit normal combo is c lp st lp st lp st lk. I tried to link Dp to the last lk but no use. I even tried super, but I cant anything to go from it.
Edit I did it with LK DP! it does 108 Combo dmg… so fari only did it in the corner
If you’re tired of having rising jaguar whiff on smaller crouching opponents, do jmk (crossup) cr jab > st mp > lk rising jaguar. hits every time, but hard as hell cause you get the overhead a lot if you fuck up the inputs
In the corner Adon is a fucking beast. cr mp xx lk rising jaguar > lk rising jaguar is the combo ender of dreams. here are the 2 crispiest combos i’ve found so far.
neutral jump mk xx lk jag kick > cr mp xx lk rising jaguar > lk rising jaguar
jump in hk>st hp>cr jab>cr mp xx lk rising jaguar > lk rising jaguar (works on crouchers too but you have to delay the hp)
also, anywhere on screen he can do cr jab > cr jab > cr mp xx lk rising jaguar. a link you’ll definately want to get down, because you can also cancel that cr mp into super for retarded dmg so it’s quite handy.
unfortunately this combo is inconsistent of several people too, most notable crouching ken. Also on lots of standing chars, their body is slimer, putting them out of range of the close st mp after a crossup. Very inconsistent.
i have been using cr.jab, cr.short, st.jab, rising jag, fadc, u2 (338dmg)
