^yeah thats one of Dooms worst matchups in my opinion. Theres really nothing you can do except just trying to empty superjump in.

You cant call assists, cant tri dash or air dash and plasma beam and photon shot all have slow enough startup to get beat by hawkeyes triple arrows.

My opponent used Vergil’s lvl 1 to chip me and I accidently used Doom’s lvl 3. Surprisingly it hit! Vergil was full screen by the way. I don’t know if this is consistent but it was pretty fun to see.

Taskmaster another character Doom have problems with his arrows and his crazy range. Any other character with no mobility Doom is cover, plus Doom got good air control with his finger laser and beam pretty neat. BK loop is annoying still working on it and his corner loop combo.

Is Hidden missile good mix-up for incoming characters and dive kick dash forward into his J.M for a combo?

If the incoming character pushblocks the hidden missiles it will just push you away and you’ll get no mixup at all

I use Molecular Shield for my team Wesk/Doom/Hawkeye. Since I already have a horizontal assist with greyhound I opted to use rocks as a midrange disruptive neutral game tactic. I think you gotta kinda think of rocks outside the box and more of a half eye of agamotto/stationary tatsu and the other half a single-drone drones. I use it for pressure in the corner, to preempt a teleport or anti wolverine, combo extender/reset off gunshot, command grab prepper. Wesker has days to confirm off a hit with rocks and hawkeye gets to do a dead arrow as well to confirm. I think rocks is more of a specific niche assist than a good straight forward assist such as beams. The thing I like about it is that it comes in like a wall of pain then gets shot outward and covers a nice area forward. I like it, it fits for what I’m doing with my team but if I ever switch Wesker for Zero I’d be using missle plain and simple.

Viper likes doom rocks.

You can find focus attack unblockable setups with rocks. Then think of the time that takes and think lockdown mixups for Magneto - I think Viper/Magneto/Doom would be a very fun team. Hypers would flow decently with that team, too.

Rocks are probably Doom’s best lock-down assist, imo. Fast enough to be an immediate threat, duration is long enough to support pressure, great from a defensive position since it covers the back and front. Plus, you get the minor shield to follow-up with from mid-range and push inside. Pretty under-rated overall.

Is doom considered a harder character to learn than magneto? Im just asking cause im trying to pick between the two or maybe use both.

He takes more time to learn to move around effectively with since his dash is only cancellable into a normal jump. Can’t attack or block during his dash (can block once you are airborne during the jump though). His jump S hurp dive makes him much easier to use from the air than Vanilla and helps him dominate air to ground and be very difficult to anti air effectively. Especially with air photon shots backing everything.

Yeah I can definitely see that. Actually did see that cause DJ Divine uses doom n rocks. I was thinking that magneto might make better use than hawkeye if they ever came out of anchor (which happens a lot for me) .

Does anyone know any specific setups that they like to use with Doom on point backed up w/ Drones, currently all I’m doing is jump forward h plus drones and calling drones then proton shot.

Drones are awesome for doom. if u get the opportunity to put out drones safely, follow it with a bunch of tri dashes into mixup.

So if I get a successful drones call and my opponent is being locked down by drones the fastest way to get to him would be doing his sexy tridash movement?

How do you guys handle a Doom mirror match? I’ve been running into more and more Dooms lately and the matchup is really wonky and of course team dependent. Most of the time the only thing that somewhat consistently works is making sure you have a height advantage via flight and airdashes. Versus vajra assist this is especially frustrating fighting for the height.

I think jumping H (butter gun, though its not buttery anymore) works pretty good. Covers the main spot that Doom players will be “operating” in usually.

Wouldn’t jumping H be good against the likes of Trish, Hawkeye, and others who can bother him from the air?
