Doom’s zoning is awesome… If not as consistent as someone like Arthur or Dormammu, if I’m playing someone with a fast character I find it easier to make them come to Doom instead of chasing them all over the place
you are insane, i run a team of hulk, doom haggar and use doom for assists and dhcs mostly but if i get low on health i bring in doom and zone until i can recover some. qcb attack, and qcf attack are great zoning tools. if you think they suck you are doing it wrong.

It was just my personal feeling about his technique. I find it frustrating to deal with fullscreen battles with Arthur, Dormammu and Magneto with his very quick startup beams.
I don’t think about it too much, all I think about is getting in and starting up those high meter, high damage combos.
Just some more tips on the loop combo for people struggling.
As has been said, after the air forward C xx diagonal dash wait as long as possible to do the air B. With most characters you can visually confirm what to do next based on the height of your opponent while you’re juggling with cr. B, cr. C.
If your opponent looks like he’s just about to touch the ground and your cr. B is hitting the middle of their body, you did it correctly and can continue the loop.
If your opponent is higher up and your cr. B hits the very tip of the bottom of their hitbox, you did the air B too early. You can still do the loop but the second part will be much more strict and probably not worth the risk unless you’re really confident. Don’t worry though, just continue with cr. b, cr. C, S, air B, air B, air forward C, air S. This takes about 100k damage off the loop combo but they’re in an otg state and in prime position for another mixup when you land. This is also good to do while you’re practicing the loop since you’re also doing the final launcher combo at the end of the loop as if you’d done the whole thing.
You can actually cheat a little bit if you wait a tick before doing the cr. B juggle after the air B so the cr. B hits the middle of their box as well. Your goal is always to launch them as low to the ground as possible so you can do your first air B that much sooner, making the rest of the loop fairly easy.
I’m running with Wesker, Doom (Missles), Phoenix right now since Wesker and Doom do so much damage without meter and no matter if Wesker or Doom is on point, the other’s assist works extremely well for setting up their offense gameplans. Also, Phoenix is good if you’re afraid of getting gayed by level 3 X-factor Sents or what have you at the end of a fight you’ve been thoroughly dominating. Counter shitty store bought Kraft cheese with that good italian shit, I always say.
Magneto’s Disruptor may be fast but it’s not unstoppable or anything, if you’re fullscreen you can just jump and Photon Shot, it SHOULD reach him, if closer up you can jump>dash>punish>profit. Beware any AAA’s though (but this goes without saying).
As far as Arthur and Dormammu are concerned… well, they’re built to be good zoners, but they don’t have the kind of melee game Doom has, so don’t TRY and zone them out, curb-stomp Arthur’s head in…
EDIT: That being said though, Doom is the shit, so far he and Morrigan are shaping up to be pretty much my favorites. I finally got to play some 1v1 IRL, and they were driving my friend insane, lol.

I have become obsessed with this character. I love activating X factor in the middle of an opponents block string and landing level 3 for the win. The most stylish finish IMO and it just adds to the sundae when he says “This is over”.
Doom is such a badass.
Doom was my favorite in 2, glad he seems competitive here in 3. His dash in taking me some time to get used to. And he could have better dhc options (when dhcing him in), but I am liking him so far.
So besides using low assists how does Doom get in? I know that tri jumping sucks in this game so do we have to “square jump”? Does sj xx f.dash allow you to dash earlier than a normal jump? Also is Wesker’s low assist too slow to use with Doom? I run Wesker/Doom/Dante?(maybe idk who else to use as a third). I like to use Plasma Beam assist with Wesker and teleports. hehe.
doom can more than half life almost anyone with full life off one connected M. nigga is GDLK. he has surprising speed to with his jump cancellable dash.

Just a note, I’m sure someone is already working on it, but we should probably have a Doom Combo Thread with some witty name, a thread to list all the inputs and descriptions of the combos we are talking about, with the nice smileys and all. Who wants to work on that?
Are you trolling? Seriously, you think Doom has the worst keepaway and OTG relaunches are unusable?
Abuse his dives, air dash cancels, and j.M (or just use a good cover assist). Use forward air dash>j.M>c.L/s.L for an overhead and mix it up with a downward air dash>c.L.
Also, his ground dash can’t be normal canceled but you can jump cancel it, you can dash>forward jump>j.M or try to bait them by dashing in and jumping backwards, if they try to poke you, you can try to punish with Plasma Beam, or dash forward into j.M or use his j.f.H/j.S (depending on the situation).
Worst comes to worst and your opponent is still consistently beating you? well then make them come to you, Doom’s zoning generally pisses people off pretty quickly, making them commit to stupid stuff to get in on him, PUNISH.
I’ve been playing Doom all day, he’s really rather awesome imo…
Edit: Don’t know about Wesker, character doesn’t really interest me so I don’t know much about him, however I enjoyed abusing Felicia’s Rolling Buckler assist with Doom (IDK if her low assist is faster/slower than Wesker’s though).

Oops, thought the attacks were overheads. Still, the mix-up is pretty decent.
As far as a video is concerned, I would love to make one but the equipment I normally use is fubar at the moment. I’ll see what I can do though.
Thanks man. I just have trouble performing IAD’s with him since there seems to be a minimum jump height to air dash.
