Late night at SRK, version 0, champion edition!

Fuck, I hate being sick… I was feeling so shitty that I left work at 2pm yesterday to try to sleep it off, only to wake up a few hours later with a really high fever. High enough where I couldn’t really walk around or anything and I had to have a friend take me over to the hospital. Got an IV in me and some medicine to cool off the fever but I still felt like shit today. Hopefully it clears up by tomorrow morning.

damn man. I hope that clears up soon. sounds like dehydration got you from what little I can tell. hopefully it’s cleared by now. if not, milk it!!!

wow, the thread exists.

Well, it’s midnight here. I don’ think there’s a better place to land my post # 6000 than here.

For the first time in weeks, things are looking brighter. I’ve been told I passed one of the last subjects I have to take. I hope to God it’s true.

Finally, FINALLY, almost done with college.

I really hate spending time in the field sometimes, especially when I forget to bring food. MRE’s aren’t that bad, even though I got sick of eating them a few years ago, but seriously… whoever thought of making an OMELETTE MRE should be beaten to death. That shit doesn’t taste right at all.

am I the only one expecting maki to catch up with guy in slide’s av?

-Starhammer-

I was just staring at the breasts. are they really bouncing, or its just an illusion created my maki running?

Both Guy and Maki are running to go kick some ass in SF4. So I’m expecting Maki to catch up too so she’s in the game if Guy gets in the game. And her breasts are both bouncing and it’s also an illusion cause when you just saw her running last, she’s way past that spot and is running way further ahead at this point. And, even if they can’t get a theme song, they’ll steal Akuma’s 3rd strike one, cause that was the best shit on that game.

Hey Ducky in the end the MRE I think that’s the best tasting was the sloppy joe one, it’s some brand new shit, don’t actually know how long it’s going to take the entire military or even Army to catch up with the new ones though, cause I heard they’ve been out for a while but I only had it once, but it’s not like I eat MREs all the time anyway. People deploy and don’t even eat the shit, you eat better and for free when you deploy often times. But of course you already knew that, just sayin it anyway.

I’ve had the sloppy joe a few times. I didn’t think it was that good. I think the best item out of the new menu is the jambalaya… with the classic chili mac being way up there too. Sometimes you have no choice but to eat MREs during deployments though… although steak and lobster after completing a mission is dope, I never had the luxury of having DFAC’s wherever I went. The only MREs I didn’t mind too much were the cold weather MREs.

Yeah chili mac is always top tier, but the sloppy joe one man it tasted real good. I usually eat my MREs cold and don’t bother heating them up cause it takes too long. Even when I was in Iraq we ate MREs for like the first 2 weeks and was like fuck this shit, we’ll just eat before and after, or take other food with us instead of MREs(especially since the camp ran out of them anyway).

The longest period I had to eat MREs was just during the training cycles.

There used to be an MRE with a peanut butter and chocolate cookie or something. That was so ridiculously delicious. But it was like finding four leaf clovers - I used to go through all my dad’s boxes of MRE and only find like 1 or 2 per crate.

I heat my MRE’s when I can, since they tend to taste better heated. I’ll just throw the water in the heater bag with the packet and toss it back in my assault pack for later… by the time I want it, it will be heated through. I’ve never met anyone who could heat that burrito up though… I’m pretty sure it could substitute for a SAPI plate. I’ve been tempted to use 100mph tape to secure them to HMMWV’s just to see if they can withstand IED blasts. I’m pretty sure the burrito would survive.

The best dessert is still the Lemon Poppy Pound Cake. They have those wannabe Jolly Ranchers in them to - or used to. The “Lucky Charms” brand things. Ironically enough, whoever ate those things normally had really bad luck afterwards. That’s why you give them to Iraqi kids.

It’s the original, I’m pretty sure it predates Lounge/TOL. The first one of this kind was around 2002-2003.

  • Tackling the room through Hyper Turbo clean hypnosis. Probably a few rounds of dust bunny bashings before I make way for a new desk and TV by Boxing Week raping season. I’ll prep for the best. Secret Santa time is coming.

Most of the cookies in the MREs were tops, especially the shortbread cookies.

So you’re a military kid Azrael? Didn’t know that.

I used to know this one guy that put the MEAL into the heater packet and ate it like that. He was an idiot. Cause the heater is bad for you, his ravioli was pasta red and heater pack grey shit looked awful but he kept eating it anyway.

Haha @ it being a SAPI plate, I bet most of the meals in the MREs could take, slow down, or melt shrapnel.

I always thought that the best dessert was either the shortbread cookies or the raspberry applesauce(if that counts). Those Charms? Everyone would always say that it would make it rain if you ate them out in the field.

Yeah, Dad was army for 30 years. He retired at the rank of CSM when I was around 13. I didn’t have to bounce around much - me and Mom lived at Fort Ord while he did a tour in Korea, and then he came back and we went to the NTC at Fort Irwin which is where he retired (he was the base CSM, under Gen. Wesley Clark). He went to Vietnam and Desert Shield/Storm, but to this day he absolutely refuses to talk about Nam.

I hate NTC with a passion. Just had to say it.

at night

 I can see why.

I was there from the ages of 9-13 or so. It wasn’t so bad. Learned how to bowl and swim…because bowling and swimming was all we had. You get used to the 115 degree days too.

it somewhat is a lounge thread. mainly, me and some of the others were all up late at night and someone (I think it was either weeks or YahnV) started a late night thread. surely enough, more insomniacs gathered and the rest was/is history. Aside from having our own thing going on, the thread really isn’t much different from the lounge thread.
