I was having a great argument with a friend last night over OG Transformers. Between Optimus Prime and Starscream, who is the better character? I picked Optimus Prime at first, because c’mon, he’s the original HERO OF THE UNIVERSE. He’s GOT THE TOUCH. He’s a big ass mac truck who can (and has) just run your shit over. He’s awesome.

But we can’t forget Starscream either. He was the Original Bitch. Power-hungry as a madman. Made no secret of his plans to dethrone Megatron, but Megs couldn’t do anything about it cause he needed Starscream. His transformation was probably more useful (F-15 Jet as opposed to the mac truck). And his voice actor was the Godly Chris Latta, who was also COBRA COMMANDER.

Prime was badass, but Starscream had the more interesting character.

I couldn’t decide. So, between the two, who do you guys think is the better/most popular character?

Well, untill kiddie-anime ruined everything and turned the bad guys into flaming homosexuals with long blue hair and elf ears.

But before all that, take a look at the badguys of all the major classics and it’s clear that they have the superior (cooler) designs and voices.

As much as I like Prime, I’m afraid my vote goes to Starscream.
Why? I think he’s the first one who made being a bad guy cool. Not Slithe and the mutants, Not even Cobra commander (Although Destro was, is, and will always be the man.) Just Starscream. After him, a lot of people started doing it, but Starscream did it first.

Thanks for the TF input. Yeah, Starscream’s pretty tight. I love Prime to death, but I gotta give the edge to Starscream. I might have even continued watching the TF movie after everyone else had died, but the minute Starscream kicked the can there just wasn’t any point anymore.

I guess this is the first nightly bumpage. Although it’s midday for me and I’m bored at work. :stuck_out_tongue: I don’t really want to go home either, as my girlfriend will be waiting for me and I don’t feel like seeing her right now. I smell a fight in the mist. :bluu:
