Well, since Ryuujin apparently went missing and the other LB2 thread seems to be sorta dead, I wanna try to organize a multi-day tourney on Kaillera for Lastblade 2 which will take place hopefully within this month.

Rules are the following;

You will play a set of 3 matches, and those who win the first 2 match will be the winner.

Rounds: 5
Health: default
Time: default
Characters: Unawakened Kaede is allowed. Boss and morphing dolls are banned.
Mode: You may change your modes from opponent to opponent. Ex mode is allowed.

Additional Rules: Please read

Infinites are NOT allowed.
Repeated use of Zantetsu or Lee’s JAC is NOT allowed.
Combos that require the use of above moves are not allowed either.
Juggle with Akari’s 4B or Zantetsu’s qcf A JC is not allowed.
Moriya’s teleport cancel is allowed only once in a combo, and may not use speed chain after the teleport cancel.
Similarly, Mukuro’s crawl can be used only once in a combo, and no speed chain is allowed after the crawl.
Speed special combo may not be performed on Kaede after you performed a ground finisher on face-down Kaede.
Throwing Kagami after deflecting his midair d.C at low altitude is not allowed. This is to prevent the floating bug.

Upon violation of any of the above rules, that match will not count (not just the round), and you must replay the match.
Any match hampered by game-disrupting bugs (bugs that will either disable the players from continuing the round which the game occured in, or ones that disrupt the game time for more than 3 seconds) must be replayed.

If you want to sign up for the tournament, please post here with your Kaillera alias, the general location of where you live (state, coast, etc.), the method of contact, your prospective free time in this month of January, and the character you are going to use.

Emulator used will be Mame32K 0.64
Kawaks have a problem with desync running Last Blade 2 for lot of the people, and for the sake of standardization, lets all play on a same emulator.

If there are a lot of objections or better suggestions, these rules are prone to change.
I will start organizing the tournament sheet once I get 12 people to sign up, or 2 weeks pass since this notice. I am not participating in this tournament, so feel free to join.

It looks like two weeks aren’t gonna cut it. I’ll hold up the participation closure till the end of the month and see if we can get enough people signing up.

Sorry for repeating myself over and over, but please state which character you will be using in the tournament. You will not be able to change your character through-out the tourney, but you may change the mode you select from game to game (though not during the match-up.)

It’d be great to be able to join this tourney, but I’ll be without an internet conn of my own for a few months, so no kaillera for me. What I could do is let a couple of people I know about this because I wanna see it happen. I could let some of the REALLY good people know as well to try and lure you into playing, heh heh.

Also, the rules you’ve set out are pretty good, but what about character specific bugs like the face down Kaede bug, and Akari’s crazy hitboxes that let characters like Amano rape her for 100% damage (or close in an actual game situation) when cornered?

what do you mean no using zantetsu’s qcf a JC? thats the entire point of the qcf a, the combo, unless you mean an infinite or something

Id be down though, since none of the rules really worry me / apply to me anyhow…

I meant Zantetsu’s qcf A JC(jump-cancel) as in, jump-cancel bug. It can be used for infinites involving speed special hitstop that can be repeated from qcf A.

I’m sorry I forgot to mention about Kaede’s face-down bug. I’d have to add that into the rule;
speed special may not be performed after performing a ground finisher on Kaede’s face-down position.

As for Akari’s hitbox bug, that bug is only effective if the Akari player doesn’t perform anything on the wakeup. That bug doesn’t affect the gameplay.

Man, it’s almost the end of the month and I’ve only got 7 ppl participating. I guess this tourney will go on a stasis until there’d be more people. I’m sorry for those who did sign up.

Ah the hell, we got 11…I guess I’ll enter with Unawakened Kaede and make that 12. Alright, this thing is starting up!

In order to reduce the effect of lag on playing on Kaillera, here’s my suggestion.

Starting March 5th, this tourney will take place on any US kaillera servers for a span of one week.

Write the character you’d be using in the tourney, your prefered match time and/or availability!

Thanks for signing up guys. I’ll try to post the reply of those who contacted me only through mail so it’d be easier to coordinate schedules.

I couldn’t connect to SRK last night, so I couldn’t post the player match ups. As I’ve noted above, this is a multi-day tournament which, (hopefully) will finish by the end of March 11th. Anyways, here’s the match up for first elimination. (I’ll post it on the header but I’ll write it here as well just in case.)
