I have no idea why he said that but it’s Mjolnir. I think it’s the best thing we’ve got going right now. Good damage. Can substitute cr.lk for the first cr.mp to get a low/safer hit confirm, gives good partner tag in chances. Love it.
I saw Desk connect Lightning Screw after Mjolnir, and it is possible. Just have to do it really quick (I spam the move during the knockdown), giving you even better opportunity for tag cancelling.
Edit: I still really really dislike Lightning Screw at the moment, either as a AA or a reversal. More than half the time I’m trading hits or being beat just outright by the opponents attacks as a reversal, and sometimes even more so as an AA. Hell, Guy can perform his dang flip grab and take Lars right out of the attack. Who the hell thought of the hitboxes and invulnerability windows for this attack? Because in my mind they REALLY DID NOT think it through.

I’ve seen in combo vids and match vids people comboing Silent Entry, Rising Storm after medium attacks on a standing opponent. Mainly Cr.mpx2 into it or Cr.mp, Cr.mk into it but when I try it the Rising Storm portion always gets blocked. I know I’m canceling the mediums into the Silent Entry fast enough, but the Rising Storm follow up never connects, I only get it to combo after a Cr.hp but never any of the mediums. I’ve tried all K strengths and still nothing. If someone could give me some tips or explain what I’m doing wrong that would be great, thanks.

I’m almost certain you cant: cr.mp/mk XX SE -> RS… on a standing opponent.
You should only be able to do that if your opponent is already airborne such as: SE -> RS, cr.mp, cr.mk XX SE -> RS.
Are you sure you’re not seeing: cr.mp, cr.hp XX SE -> RS?
That’s it then, the video quality was bad so the first hit of cr.HP must have looked like a cr.MP, especially linking right after another cr.MP. Thanks for the info, it answered my question.

Not really, Lar’s damage post tag is pretty mediocre.

Resets, not that I’m aware of. Damage can be good. His frame traps are deadly, especially with such a unique set of normals. As for what does he excel at, not much. He reminds me of Ryu, just a solid character for a solid player, he does possess a very fast overhead too. Which is relatively safe on block.

Well, that and his far normals cover ridiculous amounts of range, HK being the big one.

+40 on his DP
+20 on both followups to silent entry
+20 to first hit of cr.HP
st.HP 10>5 frames opening up new combos?

Example basic confirms.
cr.MK,Dynamic Mjolnir,cr.HP,:ighting Thrust does 247 now in 2013 it will do 273.
cr.MP,cr.MP,cr.MK,Dynamic Mjolnir,cr.HP,Lighting Thrust does 294 in 2013, cr.MP,cr.HP(1hit),Rising storm,cr.MP,cr.HP(1hit),Lighting Thrust will do 352.
While this doesn’t seem huge it’s there…otherwise he is a solid character with strong frame traps. I’m thinking in 2013 he will be really good because his main issue seems to be other characters do his job better and he is getting buffs…some of those others are getting nerfs.
I only have SFxT on PS3 at the moment and am a little hesitant on getting DLC, unless I can find a character I like. Can Lars play somewhat similarly to how someone would play Adon or Fei Long in AE? Only really used Bison, Guile and Rolento before the DLC released, and haven’t really touched the game for half a year until the 2013 patch came out.
So is there anywhere I can find Lars’ frame data ?
I was wondering the same thing. Asked everywhere, even on streams. There’s no frame data available for the DLC characters at all. Going to have to experiment in training mode.
So, I know the first hit of his light rekka is punishable by ryus cr.mk which is 5frames (I think?) Its technically punishable by DP, but on block he gets pushed out too far to be hit with reversal dp of any strength…from Ryu at least. Didnt test with Ken. Also, his Adon kicks are all punishable with reversal DP, meaning theyre at least -3. I tried punishing with ryus cr.lp, and wasnt able to punish it though so this leads me to believe that its -3 firm. I tested all strengths.
other than that, ive got no idea what the frame data for his normals are. cr.mp obviously has a lot of frame advantage. Im not positive, but during matches I was doing cr.mp xx lp rekka on block, and the rekka would score counterhits, a lot. So im not sure if thats a legitimate frametrap or if they can jump out of it or not, just stating what I observed.
Other than this stuff, Im really liking Lars a lot. Hes a very interesting character and I really dig him. The only downside is that his damage output doesnt seem very good (pre patch, I know this was fixed in 1.8). Lili does more damage than lars pre 1.8 -_-.
All of these observations were all done in 1.6, so yeah. Idk if the frame advantage on his rekka / adon kick / normals outside of boost have changed much, but if not, then these statements still hold true I guess.

I think his damage is legit. Not crazy but good. Try cr.MP, cr.HP, 236+K xx K, cr.HP (or c.HP), 263+K. You can end with 236+K xx K into cross cancel to bring someone in too. 300 some dmg try that out for starters and build your own from there.

the highest damage ive been able to get non metered with no jump in mid screen is 299 =/ but then again I havent really messed around with his L&L links, or his HP Rekka > cr.mp stuff. I dont really feel like im going to get a whole lot of more damage…
Keep in mind that im playing this on PC, so im still in 1.6. I know his damage is going up across the board, im just saying.
from what i can tell doing mp/hp de links does less damage and scales harder than just doing c.mp, c.hp xx se rising storm and following that up
the rising storm starter doesnt break 275 (no meter, no jump in). The basic mjolnir combo hits 299, and the one I listed hits 317
all this is (once again) pre 1.8

This rising storm combo:
cr.mp ~ cr.hp xx SE: Rising Storm > cr.mp > cr.mp >cr.mk xx ender
does slightly less damage than the HP DE combos, but set up much better for a tag if ended with another SE: Rising Storm.
