Yeah, I remember a few. Snaaaake and I never got along for some reason. lol Trash back and forth and he would always get salty after he would lose. Joe Resio was cool, still friends with that guy. He was number one on xbl. I actually still have a few recorded matches on my xbox with him. And Dalipicard. I remember playing him on cvs2 and 3S. Good old days indeed.
And that would be awesome. Im in SA town a lot so imma definitely check out GameWorx. I remember the one in Vegas. It was crazy. Didint see much fighters tho, hope this one is different. We don’t even have 5 people that we can say are the top five. Lost touch with all the CVS2 guys. But if anything a couple of casuals never hurt anybody. We’ll see.
Hahaha. That makes me wanna see SA-town cvs2 even more. I see it though. Don’t think i don’t. I was missing a lot of combos i dont usually miss, I wasn’t following through with a lot of poke openings, and i didn’t punish some free shit he threw at me. No matter. More competition heavy game nights will step up our game. Our group is the only one that plays cvs2 over here. And we’re totally willing to game it up with you guys. We’ll see who schools who! :]

i never saw Pablo with any consistant wins in a row.
i only played pablo like 3 times at the arcade at the time , and he didnt beat me once.
my point is, if any of those 4 i listed were at that arcade playing cvs2 durring the weekend, and non of the other ones that i listed were there.
they would keep winning, untill one of the other guys showed up. 14, 18, 25, 30 wins in a row.
no one else would knock them off the cab.

in all fairness, this list is only the “usuals” maybe there were 1 or two guys that came in from mexico every now and then and kicked our asses, but they dont count because, they were not from laredo.
not that it matters much now anyway since, those days are long gone.

1 month after the roll cancel discovery the arcade shut down the machine because “we were to rowdy” and that was the death of the fighting game arcade scene in Laredo.
lol I know that dude. people who weren’t even part of our local scene remembered my name for some reason tho. xbl and flashy fighting i guess. And i agree with the list except for the guy that started getting grabbed outta his S-groove dodges and went down hill. :] Robert and Noel definitely deserve to be there tho.
Hey man, placing aside, lets get a CVS2 community again. It was actually quite big back then. Its a shame that not many people play it anymore. Shit, lets make a new top five. We got 5 people teams like the ones from SA-town wanting some comp. And now with 3S online edition coming out…old school is rising from it’s grave. And for good reason, these games are just better than the new ones. All I know is me and a handful of others will travel for CVS2 and 3S. If anything just to be part of a gaming community that still plays the games we play. Why not?

Ah man, don’t remind of that day. What a shame. They actually got more business because of the CVS2 people. What a dumb decision. They really need to bring it back.
I was the first to try out roll cancel at the arcade, ask nomad, he saw me go through a fireball with blanka roll and asked “did you just go through a fireball?” lol
after a few days i gave up on it because it didnt work with S-grove. and unless i skipped a few months after that. i remember the arcade shutting the machine down 1 or maybe 2 months after that.
after the arcade scene died, i retired from CvS2 simply because i refused to play on pad and this was all pre sfiv DAYS so pretty much no one had a joystick and the ones on market sucked ass, i was the first to attempt to make a modded joystick out of a ps1 controller back in the day, and it seemed to work, but i could never get a cab working. or a confortable joystick case for that matter. so i just gave up on the game. Arturo and razrback did have a nice cab setup at the time though. but i never hung out with those guys so… yea.
i dont play street fighter 4 no more either, i play around with MK9 every 5 days or so.
RAY was the best playing in laredo at the time, before he left, after he left well… it was just the rest of us 4 players left. Alex was not top 5 at all either.
but again to put it in perspective, there were only about 10-15 people that went to the arcade on a regular basis, the rest of the players were just scrubby kids or people from mexico.
again this is what i saw at the time, i would be at the mall all day on weekends so, i pretty much saw it all.
and nomad, yes if i was losing it was because i was playing S groove and it was against one of the listed 5 top players, i never lost to anyone else on a consistent basis.

on a side note , an honorable mention goes to that big hairy mexican dude with curley hair that mained blanka. that guy was pretty good, but just quite dident make top 5
